Sorry, we do not take the transport service, do not know which is the correct number. I guess either you call each number or wait for the secondary one briefing day, the transport company will have their staff to answer queries and take order.

Hi! I'm a student in Dunman High. Personally, I do feel that Dunman's cultural is one that is very prominent and there is a good learning environment. Generally, the staff in Dunman High are very caring but there are a few teachers that are very biased. My current History teacher is very biased towards certain pupils that always score well in her tests and gave them very high grades in a major History project worth about 30-40% of our grade, regardless of their performance. Even though there were certain groups who outperformed them, they were given lower marks and there was an extremely large margin in score between her favourites and the rest of the class. The students in Dunman High are very nice and it is easy to pair up with them. Nonetheless, there are a couple of students who would bully or badmouth others but the teachers are currently trying to stop the issue. As for helping weaker students, it really depends on which teacher you get as some are super on about helping you while others will just take a back seat. Hope this helped! 😄 🕺 :imcool: :imanangel: :rahrah:

Very good insight into the school and teachers, except for the part about bullying, which exists in every school. It is really up to students and parents to be mindful and know how to handle them when they occur.

            Hi,

I like to find out more about the subject combination selection in year 2 & JC1, and the sports CCAs.

            (1) In year 2 and JC1, are the students allowed to choose any subject combinations or there are pre-determined ones? What are the subject combinations for year 2 and JC1?

            (2) In year 3, how many students can take triple Science (Pure Bio + Chem + Physics)?

            (3) Dunman High offers only Pure Science?

            (4) In JC1, triple science or double maths double maths is not offered?

            (5) For sports CCA, can anyone join or only those in the school team can join?

            Thank you!

To add onto question (2) above, at end of Year 2 : what is the minimum GPA score requirement, to do Triple Sciences (from Year 3 onwards, until end of Year 4 )?

My Son is in DHS. Next year, year 2.

I asked him about bullying. He went “Har? Bullying. Never heard of.”
Teachers are very caring. It is a very good environment.
They keep close contact with parents especially for certain subjects child may struggle with. They give personal subject consultation nearer to exam prep period.

Hello fellow parents, may I know for Sec 1:

                  1) does the school used Textbooks or notes?
                  2) do we need to buy ALL the textbooks in the book list? anything that we can skip? or take note?
                  3) I reckon majority of them are doing the 3rd language, may I know which day is the lesson?
                  4) what time do they end for the day?
                  5) how do you improvise the school metal button with plastic button at the bottom? picture to share?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

                    Hi MEinME,

Although notes are given to students during the lesson, textbook is still a important source for exam study. My suggestion is if you do not wish to have your kid worry on textbooks, just buy all textbooks. Alternatively, there is a bookshop in the school, you can always buy the textbooks from the bookshop when you need it provided it is not out of stock.

For 2018, the third language class is on Thursday afternoon, 3:15 to 6:45pm at Bishan. There is transport available to fetch the students from school to Bishan, at a cost of $35 per term.

As for the metal button, we do not change to the plastic button, unable to share.

                    Regards
