      Hi parents,

What kind of laptops/iPads are required for year 1 boys?
None. They just need a pc with windows for projects.

No teacher requires it, but also no forbidden. Teachers only give out homework and project, they don't care where you do it (school, home, library) and how you do it (pc, laptop, iPad, phone, mac, windows, Linux)

Mine never had occasion to bring laptop/pc/ipad to school.

DS only brought his laptop to school during boarding because he was lazy to go to computer room. But today he told me it is actually not necessary now because they can access Google docs via handphone.

Even during PW, he and his group mates usually use the computers in school or work from home so no need laptop.

Anyway, if you want to buy desktop/laptop, no need to buy MS Office because the school has arrangement with Microsoft to allow students to download and use MS Office for free.

May I find out how are classes allocated for new year 1 students, among DSA and S1 admitted students? Would DSA students be grouped according to their domain and the S1 by t score? Or all via T score? Or just random allocation?

Then for the subsequent years? Based on results? Or remain same class for year 1 and 2?

                      Thanks

In the past, DSA students were allocated to specific DSA classes. However in recent years, the policy changed and there are no more so-called sports classes. Instead, DSA students are spread across multiple classes.

Y1 students will โ€˜enblocโ€™ to Y2. At Y3, they will be split up based on subject combi.

There is no more sports class though those who DSA in the same sports will usually be grouped together in the same class. Those who DSA using Maths will usually be allocated to one of the 3 classes (these 3 classes also have students who did not DSA using Maths).

Policy may change any year so things may be different especially when DSA quota is no longer 50% (I heard it's 35% since last year?).
