      Nevergonnagiveyouup:
      Hi Parents,

I am a NUSH student about to graduate tomorrow. Do y'all want my notes, assignments, quizzes and test papers? I can sell it for a very cheap price!
Is that allowed? I thought it is confidential information only students and teachers should know.

Checking in. Trying to find out for my niece. Anybody whose kids gotten 225-235 and A for both Maths and Science, admitted to NUSH? Can pm me if not convenient. Thank you

This is possible, for those who got in via DSA, as they might not put in their best effort during PSLE. But for PSLE intake, I think it is almost impossible because there will be a long waiting list of higher scorers.

depends on which road (route), the P6 student entered by.

If enter by SIE (Supplementary Intake), after PSLE results are released : need at least minimum 24x, if interview show that the student has genuine passion in (Maths, Science). Reason : even if a candidate scored 27x but if this 27x is acquired through lots and lots of \"hot-housed\", pumping-in- tuition for every single 4 subject, this 27x candidate can be rejected, after interview by Deputy-Principal / Principal, of NUS High.

Also, there is a very long list of candidates, applying for SIE, for limited vacancies.
eg. That day (Nov 2018), inside the auditorium (SIE talk), one can see at least more than 50 potential SIE 2018 P6 applicants seated inside auditorium, but less than 90. Partly because also include some who got rejected during the earlier August DSA exercise, but these P6 pupils are determined to try one more last time, during SIE. (Supplementary Intake). But, how many limited vacancies are left, this year (2018) ? Not many. Hence, even SIE itself, is competitive !

Once step into NUS High, there is no time for tuition, as timetable is very packed, heavy. Year 1 , First Trimester : they still give time for students to settle down into the new environment, adjust to the momentum gradually. But after the settling-down period is over, everything start to move swiftly, as the curriculum scope and pace start to accelerate. If the 27x student have intensive tuition for almost every single subject, it also reflect that this student doesn't know how to study, on his / her own independently, only know how to keep on relying on Tuition teacher.

However, if enter by DSA and contract already signed : can be any T-score, above 200 (minimum), including your 225-235 range, enquiry. This range that u enquired is possible, because there could be students who may be strong in (Maths / Science), but weak in languages (English / Mother Tongue), hence pulling them down all the way into the 22x range

Does it happen this year? Or last year?

Hi parents. I just wanted to say that your child doesn't need an A* for both Mathematics and Science or a PSLE Aggregate of 260+ to get admitted into NUS High. Those are just rumours. My son got a PSLE Aggregate of 256 (with an additional 2 points for Higher Chinese if he wishes to attend SAP schools) and only got an A for Science (he got an A* for Mathematics though) but he still got admitted into NUS High through SIE (Supplementary Intake Exercise).

I think it's the same for every year. Or else it will be just unfair.

Depend on what your A is.

A Range is wide, ranges from 75 upwards, to 90.
                A * range from 91 onwards.

So, if a student score ( 90 for Maths, A * for Science), or score (90 for Science, A * for Maths), another permutation, does it mean that this pupil is worse off, from another pupil who scored (91 for Maths, and 91 for Science, two A *) ?

                What's the difference, between 90 (at A grade) vs. 91 (at A * grade) ? Only 1 point difference !

So, should one be surprised (or even shocked) at students entering NUS High, without 2 A * score for Maths & Science ? No, right ?

Unofficially accepted is good enough LOL This is important as shoes account for 80% of teenager girls’ happiness ^_^

My son said no issue, as he sees a lot of students wearing bright coloured shoes.
But of course who knows whether they will change their policy next year?
