        titank,

Just to add. There is actually forum for rolex in Singapore. Everyone discussing about price, models, anything about rolex. It's really an eye opener and there is so much to learn.

In the same forum, they also talk about other expensive watches as well.

Last but not least, the prices for such watch will only go up year after year. So there is this general belief that you should buy it sooner rather than later.

Few months ago, my hubby bought a Rolex submariner black @ S$10++K. Now, the price went up S$200+.

I had mine ladies rolex watch 8 yrs ago a wedding gift from my parents. At tat time it was like S$6~7K. Now the watch(1st hand) worth more than S$8K+.

The price for the rolex will not reduce but will increase every yr.

A student's mom once wore a beautiful Chopard.

I only knew how to pronounce it after she said it
and i also knew about watches called Chopard
            after she told me!

Hers wasn't the showy bling... but beautiful and
a very tasteful and elegant piece that had small
diamonds that shone anyhow she moved... she
only showed it to me after i complimented her
abt it.. she wasn't showy at all. I didn't realise
the watch was so expensive until i insisted she
shared.. I loved how the diamonds run down on
the watch surface each time she needs to check
            the time..

Looks lovely, classly and not over the top.. πŸ˜‰

I'm not so much a watch wearer.. so i don't have
a watch at all! Haha!

Yes, we have the same thoughts too. Though rollie don't advertise like Patek Philippe where you are keeping it for next generation. In general, luxury watches do appreciate over time and the mindset when buying is you are keep it for long term/ investment and passing on to your kids. My fil bought his rollie 20 yrs ago (but silver and gold), the model don't change much. Hubby probably don't mind to wear it when he is older?

With the appreciation, if we can afford, might be good to buy for our offspring now. When my hubby bought his submariner, my son was involved in choosing it. The same applies to my watch, the girls were involved. But the issue is I've 2 girls and both like the same watch now 😒
