This year's nyps cohort generally not as strong as other years. And normally, those top students in school are dominated by girls (like total clean sweep) but this year's cohort is a bit different, boys quite strong. I remember when my DC was in P2, a T shared the many gals in his class, maths not good.

Dimsum, you work for MOE? Lol.

Like how many boys/girls did well this year, last year PSLE top scorer etc. I notice your info is very accurate and you seem to know a lot. :salute:

Not every parent’s “hearsay” is accurate, btw!

Or Maybe last year’s COP 264 was way too high? I’ve got 2 friends’ kids scored just below 260 this year. But last year’s high COP deterred them to put NYGH as first choice. Now they are in another all girls schools. If I got 258 or 259, unlikely I would put NYGH as 1st choice.

Those with 255+3 got posted to NYGH are both gung-ho and lucky!!

She who dares, win. Don’t have to be lucky, after all, they deserve to go to a good SAP school.

Scoring a Distinction in HCL is non trivial and it’s not as if everyone who takes HCL can get that +3!

Experienced parents, is it necessary to buy all the books listed in the booklist? Is it better to buy ebook or the physical book?

I am interested to know too. Read that we need to get IPAD for our child? Is it needed in Sec 1 and iPAD Pro ? (12.9??)

Oh gosh! That's a big drop from those past years' COP. 😓
                  Dd just graduated this November.
Personally, I would say - don’t bother about the COP once yr child is admitted to the school.
COP is only for sec school posting exercise, just like the PSLE.
Dd went in via sec 1 posting and to be frank, we were at the other side of the fence previously, hoping the COP will drop 🦆 coz dd was from non -affiliated Pri school and we were sure we wanted SAP schools. (our second choice then was another SAP school.)
Dd managed fine the last 4 years without external help.
The girls have to be disciplined and work hard, which is what they will need to do whichever school they go to anyway.
                  淡定点 嗯 😄

iPad only need in Sec 2.
My girl Sec 2 next year, I bought both ebook & physical book for her. but honestly, the girls seldom use their books, teacher will give them notes.
