My Son doesn’t want a third language or any of the electives. He doesn’t mind trying for the selection test for Galileo coz he has an interest in Science and got an A* in psle science but he may not pass the selection test also. He hopes to get into a sports cca though… I just hope he adjusts well to Sec school life and the rigorous academic demands in RI.

Your son may try science club as well. It's a merit cca on Friday afternoon 2-3.30pm if I remember correctly. -

Oh dear y1 is the most relax? I cannot imagine subsequent years. I’m not sure how often I can see my son after sch term starts :roll:Jellytale:
Looking at the school schedule shared at the registration day, I do feel it’s pretty demanding. On cca days, which is twice a wk, lessons end at 3.30pm and ccas last till 6+. 3rd language on tues is from 3.30 to 6.45. These are besides the Galileo etc programs. Can I know if it’s RI or generally the same for all sec schs?
Some cca not only twice, but three time a week. And some are in saturdays.
Maximum one elective every student.
Don't forget merit cca, which are all arranged on Friday afternoons. One student can choose only one merit cca except astronomy club (it's Friday night).
So school already limits their choices, and all these are optional except one core cca, so they can manage.
All PSLs said y1 was the most relax year. -
Class allocation is out. Go to Stamford14 to see.

Thanks. Merit cca on Friday won’t clash with sports cca? Was told at registration day that core cca is Mon, Wed and Fri. Also, does the school consider joining science club as an advantage when selecting students for Galileo? Thanks.mamamiya:

Thanks ksp:
Wow, thanks for sharing this important info. My son thought that he can relax and enjoy his y1life

I told son to go there have fun and enjoy himself. Am I too naive here given the stiff competition I’ve read here in ksp? -

Some sports cca got training on Fridays, some don't. Some even tue, thur & sat. Y1s will get all the cca training schedule in January, they must consider carefully when choosing cca.
Also, does the school consider joining science club as an advantage when selecting students for Galileo? Thanks.
I don't know whether teacher will consider. They use the same paper for selection test, same time and same place. On the paper, one can show his interest by ticking either sc club or Galileo or both. -
I also told Son to enjoy himself in Sec School. I think we parents don’t think too much now. I am sure the kids will find their way out in the big school.
