ccas also have high standards and if you arent good enuf you get kicked out(not ug) or for performing arts ccas I got kicked out from syf cos i wasnt good enough.Cough cough.Where did all those syf distinctions even come from huh?Teachers are also mostly boring and sometimes noone understands their lessons and just look at textbooks or other material(but they still score better than me despite complaining about how hard tests are)

Why did I lose that one mark?I was so careless I could have gotten full marks!
Me:I need one mark to pass.Just give me that one mark!
Also, smart kids are usually popular with both classmates and teachers.They have lots of friends and teachers like them.Everybody wants to befriend them.
I cant wait to go poly or ITE...anywhere but rv.

Just like to share that my DS also had problem in his year 2, but he has completed his A level and gotten an offer from NUS in 2018. So what you are facing now is not the end and don't give up easily to joint Poly or ITE

Actually Im a student from rv and I just wanna say that rv isnt really good.First of all, the notes are quite bad and other schools have better notes that even we use to study.Secondly, the teachers arent really good except for a small handful and they just have really high expectations of students in their tests and most of them have \"pets\"(obviously Im not one, in fact Im a certified pest)Oops back to topic, which is that teachers also dont really care about students' feelings I feel?My teacher actually made fun of me before.Also, triple sci classes are very stressful and competition is intense.And when you add awful classmates...ugh.Plus the school counsellor is a guy with a creepy smile (ohmygawd help) which doesnt help any bit with counselling.The sch principal is also always taking credit for the achievements of students and praising the school but whatever(handshake anyone?photo?).Well I just get remedial everyday other than cca days which is a waste of time and teachers look like they are as done with us as we are with them.Which is a lot.Now I also have a mental illness which I cant help but attribute it to the school.Year 3 is also awful with so many common tests every week(mostly twice) and eoys which there seems to be no lack of.Wheres the break?Holidays are a hoax cos its packed with loads of hw and remedial(too bad cos im dumb) and cca.Im so done.

im sorry to say this but, honestly rv is a good school. this route as u have mentioned, triple science, was a choice of your own, if you knew that you cannot cope with the amount of pressure and stress, then you should not have chosen to take triple science at all. this route was chosen by yourself, dont blame the school nor the system for expecting u to live up to expectations in the route that you have chosen. the notes in school might be hard to understand at times, but the teachers do break the notes into smaller segments and explain them during lessons. it is simply a matter of whether u chose to focus during lesson and make notes diligently or chose to give up entirely. the competition in classes is always intense, no matter which class you go to. which student doesnt want to excel in his or her studies? everyone does. the competition also oushes you to work harder, and does contribute towards a healthy learning environment. without competition, who would be driven to achieve good results, to even bother studying for tests? with regards to the school staff, many of them have their own rols and duties that they have been assigned to them to execute in a professional way. all of them are more qualified and certified to do their job than you, and unless you know better than them, please dont overlook their contributions towards the school and its population just because you dont like someone's looks. these common tests serve as a gauge for teachers to know where you stand, and honestly remedial sessions do help greatly. if you have too much stress, then perhaps its time for you to consider a route change in year 4. this system is not a perfect fit for all students, thats the reality. however, it does try its best to produce students who are able to think critically and are well rounded. given that you are a student of river valley high school, you should not be on this platform destroying the image of your own school, to put it in such a negative light. where has your pride of being a student of river valley high school gone to? where has all the values the school taught you gone to? please do rethink your statements that you post on this site, and whether it is even necessary and appropriate for you to be ranting on such a platform. please use your time wisely, instead of taking to the internet to complain, seeks solutions for the issues u complain about. please do seek help if you need it. have a good day

He has a different experience so if he considers the school bad its alright cause there will always be supporters and naysayers and theres nth wrong with it

For your own good, perhaps you should first reflect on your own attitude and mindset. Your post is all about yourself. Nobody owes you a living, not the school, not your teachers, not your schoolmates. You reap what you sow.

RV is a good school. I believe the results have been improving. In fact, my friend just told me that 2018 batch of RV graduates have achieved the best ever A Levels results so far. She had gone with her son to collect the results this afternoon. She was very surprised and extremely happy that her son scored 88 UAS considering he got in through DSA with a PSLE t-score below 230. RV must have done something right to value add so much for her son.

RV doesn’t receive students as good as VJ, DHS etc. But their A level results are comparable or may even be better.

RV has always been a much value-added school. As a parent, I’m more concerned if the sch can value add to my child. From the results posted on the school website, I think it’s clear they have done a good job.
This JingleBell girl is probably a little too self-entitled and stubborn.

DD is just year 1 this year and enjoying her free life so far. She will start having tests from this week. so wondering if I need to pull back her slack to maintain her results in future or leave it to just school. She just has HCL tuition, rest study by herself.

For 2018 A level results, RV has done very well. There’s always ups and downs. RV has been improving over the last 2 years, even producing President Scholar in 2018. This year, their results should just be after RI, HCi, DHS. They did better than VJ.
