I assume you're a singaporean?Dear primary sch experts,
I’m new here and have a question for my dd what would be your choices regarding sending to a school nearby toa payoh or sch bus for hpps? -
Hi Mummies and Daddies,
Need some advice in choosing school.. My 1st choice is Maha Bodhi but under phase 2C (I stay within 1km from school). However Maha Bodhi is a popular school which I still worried even I am staying within 1km. And it’s not easy to be member in SBF..
I was looking at Tao Nan or Kong Hwa ( both more than 2km) and planning to join SHHK to get in phase 2B..
I may not know if my DD can get in Maha Bodhi so I thought of trying the phase 2B for Tao Nan or Kong Hwa ..
My DD registration for P1 is in 2021. I have a boy born in 2017 and i would prefer mixed school so no need to headache for my Son again ..
Any advice from my lovely parents? :frustrated: :thankyou: -
you wont have time to join SHHK, in time. Parents joined SHHK for many many years first, before apply for Phase 2B schools. Perhaps can confirm with SHHK (call up to inquire) : for parents who managed to receive Phase 2B letter, for how many years had they joined first, before manage to get hold of such a letter ?
Also, pose the same, identical question to the temple Officer-in-charge of Buddhist organization : for how many years must one join and volunteer inside the Budhhist Organization, before they are willing to issue you a Phase 2B letter, for Maha Bodhi primary ?
for Phase 2C -
those 3 schools u mentioned, all need to ballot, within 1 km. Narrow down which school (out of the 3) u want to ballot under 2C, if u are SC, If PR, no chance of any of these 3 schools under 2C -
:celebrate: phtthp , Appreciate your fast reply! :thankyou:

Your mission, should you choose to accept it:
1. Be accepted as a member by 30 June 2019 in order to have 2 consecutive years of membership by 30 June 2021 (not a lot of time, start sprinting).
2. Clock 80 hrs of volunteering time (can only happen after 1 above, ie you have less than 1.5 years to clock 80 hrs - good luck).
Realistically, it is challenging to meet 1 (unless you already know 2 existing members) and unlikely to meet 2. Better option would be to go ahead with MBS in Phase 2C and target another school in Phase 2Cs (or consider another school altogether for Phase 2C).
This post will self-destruct in five seconds. Good luck. -

I am still researching what other schools my children can go .. I’m staying along Bedok Reservoir Road..
Schools available :
Telok Kurau Primary School (within 1km)
Eunos Primary School (within 1km)
Maha Bodhi ( within 1km)
Damai primary school ( 1km -2km)
St Stephen primary (1km -2km)
Looking at the schools nearby, Maha bodhi definitely my 1st choice under phase 2C
If i didn’t get into Maha Bodhi, those schools above will be my choice for phase 2Cs .. among those schools, which is better? Or is there any other schools you can recommend? Any bad reviews abt the schools mentioned above?
I am open to boys or girls school if the school environment is better than the schools mentioned above..
I heard about Haigs girl and Paya Lebar Methodist girl..which is better? both are more than 2km away.. should I do PV work for Paya Lebar girls to get in phase 2B or my chances are slim for any schools that are more than 2km?
Schools more than 2km to consider:
- Haig Girl
- Paya Lebar Methodist girls (affiliates to Paya Lebar Methodist girl secondary)
- Tanjong Katong primary
- Geylang Methodist primary
:frustrated:

Your advice will be much appreciated!! :udawoman: :udaman: -

The schools above can all serve as your back up to MBS for Phase 2Cs since they are unlikely to be filled at the end of Phase 2C. I do not know which is better since your concept of 'better' may be different from mine. Since you are living nearby, you may want to study the characteristics of their students and decide which is better for your ward.Thank you floppy for sharing too! :thankyou:

As for the rest of the schools, you either don't stand much of a chance or they are not that much different from the schools above. May as well just focus on those closer to your place. -
Hi all ,
May I check if I study 2 year in one primary school and no finish 6 year
Is it can consider alumni ?
Thanks all
