2019 PSLE Discussions and Strategies (Children born in 2007)

We markers go through standardisation briefing before each PSLE marking. It varies each year. Internally or nationally, markers & examiners contests each other. Even as a PSLE traininer, it’s almost impossible to train a child to sure-shot Bingo the model answer. There are moderations and differing scope of acceptable answers (especially for Chinese Open-Ended Compre in my case. there’s inferential, debatable answers. Higher Chinese even worse. we drop a lot of hair during marking & coaching.)
The way to get about it is to do many school exam papers (not assessment book, nor publishers practice papers), gain experience, review different markers’ answer requirements, learn the penalty and grading system. During own exam, be Kiasu, input different answering styles together, leave no stones unturned, to the point there’s no way to lose a single mark (at PSLE, an A star student commonly writes 6 line Chinese Compre Open-Ended answer for a 4 mark qn.). This is how a full-mark student, A starer is born. -

That's why is very stressful to do PSLE, to get a few more marks to score A star, much effort is needed! We markers go through standardisation briefing before each PSLE marking. It varies each year. Hi sembgal, sembgal:
anyone purchased and gone through some of the (2018 to 2016) PSLE Science booklet answers provided for Section B Open-ended (OE) section ? Which Publisher's answers to OE, are reliable ? Is it EPH or SL Education OE answers, more precise, accurate ?
Both publishers’ answers serve as a guide and those are NOT the real PSLE exam answers!
There is no standard answer sheet for PSLE Science and each teacher mark about 2 questions per paper (Booklet B) and marked based on Science keywords.
Since you mentioned that those answers provided by publishers inside psle booklet (2018 to 2016), serve as a guide, but NOT the real PSLE exam answers, so where to get the
correct PSLE exam answers ?
Is it got to wait for our school's class Science Teacher to go through with the whole class each of the OE question by question, one by one, year by year (from 2018 to 2016), in order to get hold of the actual PSLE, correct exam answers ?
So far, when go (visit) Popular bookstore, saw 3 different publishers provided PSLE (2018 to 2016) answers. They are
- Marshall Cavendish
- SL Education
- EPH
As can be seen, let us turn together to the most recent, last year 2018 October PSLE Section B Open-ended (by Topic, not by Year) Physical Science section, or the Life Science section, either one section.
For the same, identical question being asked, did u notice that the answers provided by these 3 publishers, can be so different, when u read their so called \"model answers\" ? Don't know which publisher's answers, can be trusted, or reliable.
Sembgal is right...... those so call model answers are the publisher's....... don't think any one will ever know or see what is MOE's so call model answers....... -

I bought the leftover sets of EPH psle specimen papers (only managed to get the Math & Eng) from school bookshop…haven’t check at Popular but I guess they sell it too…and I wonder what this ‘PSLE specimen Paper’ means? That should be what a real Psle paper looks like? How about the level of difficulties as compared real psle papers, I wonder…

oic..then better dont buy 'many\" specimen paper books then..wait duplicate :thankyou:'PSLE specimen Paper' means is an actual PSLE paper, from one of the past years, but they won't tell u which year.
eg
say, u buy (2018 to 2016) PSLE Maths, from Popular. Inside, this \"PSLE Specimen paper\" can be the actual past PSLE 2014 or 2013, but they won't tell u which year, just say \"Specimen\" only. Since is an actual PSLE paper, just practise since already provided inside
