lee_yl, hope you are fine now. Was shocked to hear your ordeal. I happened to be in such about 5 years ago. Still doing scope every 2 years as instructed.

Try to adopt cleansing colon regime on a regular basis by adopting high fibre diet, drinks loads of water or once in a week do a salt water flush especially those who constipated alot. Eat less fatty food. But before doing all these, I suggest you talk to a professional dietician who is aware of your medical condition. As doing these regime may have side effects like nausea, vomiting, cramping lah....etc. The dietician will better advice you on these.

Stay cool. Don't think too much. Stress can also be a factor.

LC, is it a must to do a scope every 2 years because one has colon inflammation before? Earlier, I thought of doing it only after I hit 50yo.

I was prescribed Lacto GG, a kind of probiotics. This is good, now I feel better in my guts, poo daily.

Laughingcat, can I know what is salt water flush? thanks.
      \"lee_yl\" Take care!

I was having bad dry sore throat yesterday

Make a teaspoon salt water to drink slowly with warm water - I think it helps to reduce sore n inflammation - throat just feel v dry but not much pain
Afternoon my fever shoot up to 39c , went see doc , took high fever, plus Panadol, augmentine, neuflo - one dose, fever gone by evening . Ths anti biotic must be powerful, feel larthagic , no mood to do other things …throat ok now, a bit dry, a bit headache

For my case, I need to scope every 2 years. Reason is because I kena 2xs of colon inflammation due to poor bowel movement. Also my family has a history.

Yes your prescription of Lacto GG is good. I took this as a long term supplementation, it helps to maintain a healthy bacterial balance in the intestines.

For now till the next 6 months, you can't scope. After this episode, the doctor will call you for a review. Do have a serious talk with the doctor. You can pose your questions to the doctor on the frequency of the scope.
Oh my... 2Xs colon inflammation before? Kena once and now I’m already like half dead. Maybe partly because I’m also taking the Influenza medications on top of the antibiotics. As a result, l’m feeling nauseous and giddy the whole day.

I did ask the doc whether someone like me would have colon inflammation a 2nd time, he said possible as it’s random. He urged that I go for a colon scope so that he can also assess the walls of my large intestine/colon to see if there are bulges/pouches which allow pockets of bacteria to fester.

The clinic scheduled my colonscope for sometime in March, less than 6 months apart. I shall check again to see how long more should I wait before doing a scope.

Regarding LactoGG. I find it very effective. Even though I eat fruits and veges almost daily, I realized what I deemed enough is actually not enough to maintain a healthy bowel. 😄

No choice, need to ensure the intestines are clean and clear

Actually, I’m not afraid of drinking big bottles of the solution.

I’m scared cos a lot of things that could happen will no longer be within my control. What if the colon specialist’s hand is not steady, there is a (1%) chance he may rupture one’s colon wall. Or who knows, overdosed/allergy to sedation and never wake up after the procedure. :nailbite:

we are afraid of things which happen and they are beyond our control.
when I get a panic attack, lots of 'what ifs' pop up in my head.
the only thing we can do is pray...pray very hard that everything will go smoothly.
I hope you recover from your colon infection soon.
