Actually Moe only set the directive. But Principal and students of that level, can overide if majority still prefer mid year SA1 to continue. Each school have some leeway, what is the best, for their level cohort. They can conduct this parents meet Tr session, to discuss how the majority feel. Esp in those kiasu O-level schools, Upper Sec 3 students might prefer. School may proceed to set SA1 exam, but maybe set not so high a percentage, and kiasu students may still prefer an SA1 with a lower percentage, than a zero SA1, to "force" them to study, prepare for sec 4 O level. Eg instead of set so high 40 % weigtage, maybe set a lower % instead, but still conduct SA1, because studying (preparing) for SA1, in a way, to some extent, already leap-frog students to prepare for final, year-end SA2, since it is a Round 1 revision. Isn’t it better, than to lump (clutter) everything towards year end SA2 exam, making it even much more stressful ?

through weekly tests, I know how my girl is faring for different subjects.

this ‘forces’ them to listen to the teachers during curriculum and put in effort to get homework done properly.

I think weekly tests may be better than one big exam which can make or break

Going to Orchard Isetan supermarket to pick up some specialities like deli meat or fish (black cod/king salmon). Everyday I have to crack my head to think what to cook for dinner. I don’t cook lunch.

Starting this year, after both my girls entered secondary school, I have more ME TIME as some days they come home after 7pm.
Sometimes I get sick of the malls I always frequent!!

Have. Every week sure to go either Toa Payoh NTUC or Bishan NTUC.

For past 15 years or so, same old routine. Malls A, B, C, D, E, F, G, just keep rotating. Last week was at BHG Bugis, took the escalators up/down, to past time.

Though life is boring, at least it’s carefree. 😄

Once a week I must go to Orchard. The type of fragrance they use in the malls, it is so therapeutic.

Pros and cons of being FTWM and SAHM. FTWM can chitchat with colleagues and go out with kakis during lunch. Quite fun. As a SAHM, if I overspend, I see black face from my paymaster, if you know what I mean.

@Estee, Ohh... I hate those 2 years with PSLE just at the back of my mind. Many nights I had trouble sleeping and hair turned grey real fast. Come A levels, they should be old enough to take charge on their own!

@LC, You have no intention to go back to work? My BFF rejoined the work force this year, after a gap of 14 years, after her youngest got into GEP.
