You know I used to be told those service apartments at Anson Road & People’s Park are places working ppl go for lunchtime tryst. Errrhh!

But I guess, we need to keep our relationships with spouses warm & alive. Good to develop common interests - kids, planning for holiday trips & retirement together. Keep the conversation going & keep their attention. Rmbr men can multi-tasks? That’s speaking in general terms, but I rmbr a taxi driver used to tell me - so long as he earn money to feed the family, if he spend extra time & money just to hv fun & family don’t know, he believes he alr discharges his duty. What a jerk!

It’s good to know our spouses come home promptly fr work but if spouses hv so much temptations, it takes 2 hands to clap. Hope our spouses hv strong will & know they hv a family to love & the home & kids are beautiful reasons to keep them looking fwd to return to.

It comes with practice and exposure, I think. In general, the more you do it, the better you will get at it. If you can't get more comfortable with it even with practice, then it may not the right fit for you?

Taking myself as an example, my husband asked me years ago to set up a small business, and using my skills for myself. But I am really not the entrepreneur type of person, and have always been more comfortable keeping to my limited sphere of expertise. I don't like looking for clients, marketing myself, keeping accounts, worrying about profitability, perhaps having employees to supervise. In the end, I convinced him to give up that idea for me, although if he is willing to set things up, I'm very happy to work for him! It does mean that I have forgone whatever profits he thinks I could have made, but I'm happier to do what I'm comfortable with. (So if anyone wants to set up a biz where my skills can be used, I'm a pretty good subordinate, and I don't mind working for younger people ...)
you are right..practice and exposure..I need that..I shall take baby steps..hopefully can be like you, will see it getting better. No try, confirm cannot advance..try then got hope !

While I do see Leeyl's DH point but if DH were to say that to me he will get shot down by me.

Only I am susceptible to office affairs? What about him?
Don't want to hear me grumble about colleagues then ok to hear me grumble about the kids or parents? Or I cannot grumble to him at all?
                😂

This would be peanuts compared to other nasty things he said before which sometimes make me feel belittled (as a SAHM).

But I do agree with my DH’s reasoning. He said I am 自恋成狂, 爱自作多情 type. So he better shut me off from the world of temptations outside. 😂

My hubby is very good in separating his private life from work. When he steps out of office, he leaves everything behind thus he seldom talks about his work related stress. Maybe men and women are just different.

Hubby’s good friend started off with a female colleague with harmless joking and teasing then both sort of developed further. That (married) woman told hubby’s good friend that her husband always played HP game and she felt neglected.

Hubby’s friend told hubby, he felt assured that he fulfilled his duty and he never neglected his wife because he brought her to the hawker centre to have breakfast with her!

Lee_yl, are you pressurized to meet certain quota for renting out or selling properties?

Also, do you need to share certain percentage of your “commission” to ERA?
No pressure. I believe not everyone who joins ERA is a full time agent as there are many part-timers out there. However, I will feel the pinch when it’s time to renew the license as renewal fees are not cheap plus need to pay for the courses (not cheap either), compulsory insurance, etc., easily $500-$600 just for renewal even if I’m not making any profit.

Yes, commission needs to split with company 70/30 or 80/20 or 90/10, depending on your seniority.
