I know. But for the REP, its entry standard has been AAA/A for the 90th and 10th percentile for as long as I know since they started offering the course.
      Well, you asked the question:
\"Is this the case? If my DS don't have 90 Rank Points, does this means he has no chance?\"

Yes, it may have been the case for as long as you / I / we know, but what goes up (or already at its max) may have to come down one day. The answer is simply no one knows until it happen. You can only try and hope that he has a chance this year. After all, it only takes up 1 spot out of many choices he may have to fill. What has he got to lose by trying?

I am merely asking, especially for anyone that may have experience or knowledge about admission into this course.

I'm also merely trying to find out if what my son has been told is accurate or not.

And of course, I will encourage him to try, as you have said things may change from year to year.

Anyway, he has already indicated REP as one of his choices when he was invited by NTU to apply for their early scholarship application.

But so far, still have not heard further from them yet.

That's why I'm merely asking and try to find out from other people's experience, especially those who have in the past applied for this course.

What your son had been told is entirely possible and believable.

http://www.ntu.edu.sg/AboutNTU/CorporateInfo/FactsFigures/Pages/Undergraduate-Population-by-Gender-AY2018-19.aspx is fairly small ~ 290. That's about 70 students a year. Won't be surprised if all 70 students have a perfect RP of 90 points. That said, there's an selection interview for REP. It's also possible that a small handful of students (< 10%) with less than full RP had been called up and awarded places in the programme but their numbers won't necessarily show up in the IGP.

Probably you can check with your son if he did any other outstanding curriculum or CCAs during his JC days? Not sure if it’s some help and can showcase during the interview.

He did achieved the HCI Diploma (Distinction) that required him to perform some kind of social service.

It may help I supposed, but firstly he needs to be called up for an interview first.

Hopefully he will be called up.

                Yes looks fantastic. Can try.

Btw, wonder why REP is that popular among students?

                  VISION

A premier engineering programme to nurture students as Future Leaders of Industry.

                  MISSION

To provide a broad-based, inter-disciplinary engineering education which integrates Engineering, Science, Business, Technology Management and Humanities, and to nurture engineering leaders with an entrepreneurial spirit to serve society with integrity and excellence.

                  PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

The graduates of the REP are expected to demonstrate the following accomplishments, which are the Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs) for the Bachelor of Engineering Science (Engineering Specialisation):

Implement innovative solutions that integrate sound engineering principles with entrepreneurial vision and business acumen across a range of careers
Lead multi-disciplinary teams deploying good communication skills that draw on a global perspective and high cross-cultural awareness
Make an active, constructive and ethical contribution to society with a strong sense of professional responsibility

You have to admit, it sounds pretty exciting and interesting than standard engineering programmes. There are quite a number of business modules / components in their curriculum.

They have to spend 1 year studying at an overseas partner university.

It is also their flagship Engineering programme. So, you can expect they will put a lot of resources into this programme.

My DS is interestEd in NTU's Renaissance Engineering Programme.

The admission for the 9th and 10th percentile is AAA/A.

He got As for all his subjects, except for a B for his GP.

During one talk by NTU recently that my DS attended, one professor there said students who were admitted into REP all scored the perfect 90 Rank Points.

Is this the case? If my DS don't have 90 Rank Points, does this means he has no chance?
AAA/A only adds up to 70 points. Not everyone who gets AAA/A gets A for GP and PW. And I believe there are also interviews. So despite what the professor said (and maybe he was referring to 1 particular year, or \"rounding up\"), it's still worth trying.

That’s what I am trying to find out. Was the NTU professor referring to perfect score of 90 Rank Points or was he actually referring to the AAA/A Cut-off point.
