My fren DS- AAA/AAA. Failed to get offer from both SMU/NTU Law but got an offer from UCL of UK instead.
      In funds permit:
UCL is an awesome uni. The 2 Singaporeans I kn there are first class honours students. In UK, they award way more first class and 2nd upper honours in law than our local uni.
      If funds don’t permit:
If it is DS, can reapply again. I read someone applied for NUS/SMU law 3x, he got into NUS Law at the 3rd try.
If it is DD, also can reapply. A girl I kn took a gap year to do her bmat. Later she got into NUS Science in the following year. She reapplied uni again. Now, she is in Law 2nd year.
I’m not sure but I think local Medicine is the only course you cannot reapply.

You can't reapply for Medicine if you've already gone through the tests and interview stage and failed, although you can try via discretionary admissions if you have something new to offer.

So this girl you know took BMAT, didn't get into Medicine but got into Science, then tried for Law the following year and is doing Law now?

          Hi jtoh,

Any idea for discretionary admissions, how many vacancies are there per school and per year? Thanks.

Yes I know, UCL is world top 10 uni. But heavy school fees for foreigners. Not many ppl can afford though.

My DS finally received an invite from NUS and NTU for an interview.

However they both clashed on the same day. If my DS needs to reschedule one of the interviews in 3rd or 4th week of April, because he will be enlisted into NS on 4 April, can he ask for permission to book out.

May I also ask how can he go back home from Tekong on his own? Is there private boat charter available? Sorry. I’m out of touch how the army works nowadays.

Both NUS and NTU same timing?

I read somewhere that there is no alternative slot for another interview though.

Should have special arrangements for such interviews. The army should know how to handle such issues as they could have faced in many batches before.

Both same day but can choose different timings. But the time in between the interviews are too close and my DS won't be able to attend both.

He called NTU and the have rescheduled him on 20 April at 10.30am. Hope my DS will be allowed to book out on Friday evening.
