You can't reapply for Medicine if you've already gone through the tests and interview stage and failed, although you can try via discretionary admissions if you have something new to offer.
In funds permit:ilovelaksa\" post_id=\"1902647\" time=\"1552540557\" user_id=\"88602:
My fren DS- AAA/AAA. Failed to get offer from both SMU/NTU Law but got an offer from UCL of UK instead.
UCL is an awesome uni. The 2 Singaporeans I kn there are first class honours students. In UK, they award way more first class and 2nd upper honours in law than our local uni.
If funds don’t permit:
If it is DS, can reapply again. I read someone applied for NUS/SMU law 3x, he got into NUS Law at the 3rd try.
If it is DD, also can reapply. A girl I kn took a gap year to do her bmat. Later she got into NUS Science in the following year. She reapplied uni again. Now, she is in Law 2nd year.
I’m not sure but I think local Medicine is the only course you cannot reapply.
So this girl you know took BMAT, didn't get into Medicine but got into Science, then tried for Law the following year and is doing Law now?
For medicine, does it mean if one is not shortlisted for tests and interview previously, one can apply again? Cuz the cutoff rp is different most years. I read of a boy who applied to NUS Medicine 3x and got in at the 3rd try. Was confused by this.
And yes, the girl is doing Law now. She was in Science. -

Hallo, can reschedule. Just write in to them.
Both NUS and NTU same timing?Parent\" post_id=\"1903625\" time=\"1553312867\" user_id=\"2348:
My DS finally received an invite from NUS and NTU for an interview.
However they both clashed on the same day. If my DS needs to reschedule one of the interviews in 3rd or 4th week of April, because he will be enlisted into NS on 4 April, can he ask for permission to book out.
May I also ask how can he go back home from Tekong on his own? Is there private boat charter available? Sorry. I'm out of touch how the army works nowadays.
I read somewhere that there is no alternative slot for another interview though. -
Hi Parents,
Need some advice on this-
DD got an offer from UCL (UK) for Law while currently awaiting offers from local unis.
However, she is interested to go overseas to further her education.
Question-
1) is it true that it’s difficult to find internship for overseas students compare to those studying locally?
2) does local firms prefer to accept local law graduates as compare to overseas graduates ? -
Thanks Schootopia!
Another question- notes that foreign law graduates require to take 6months conversion course back home. Is it difficult to pass? Also, is the bar exam becoming more harder nowadays? -

I know of someone who graduated from England recently and the sentiment among the foreign grads is that it is very stressful taking the conversion exam as well as the Bar. I can't remember the stats now but it is a concern.
Thanks Schootopia!

Having said that, schooltopia's points are valid. Especially if you graduate top of your class. -

I think getting to graduate for being top of the class is a dream. Cos those students who get admitted there are execellent in results too.
But what happens if fail the conversion course? Can try and try again correct? -

Thanks Schootopia for valuable advise!
The conversion course is only to get foreign-trained students knowledgeable in some local laws. Distinction/pass/fail correspond to outstanding/competent/incompetent performance. If you want to practice in Singapore, you need to be at least competent with local laws. Nobody wants to go to a lawyer that gives bad/wrong advice.isetan\" post_id=\"1904393\" time=\"1554034954\" user_id=\"57562:

Similarly, the Singapore Bar Examination (Part B) is just to ensure competence in the more common practice areas in Singapore. Many other countries have Bar exams to pass if you want to practice there, including England and Wales.
At the end of the day, these are just the bottom rungs of the professional ladder. That's why they call it legal practice.
If your girl can make it into UCL Law, you can have confidence in her ability. I doubt these tests will pose issues as long as she puts in effort.
加油 !
By the way, 1st class Honours does not equal 1st in the class. -
Hi. May I know if it is common to secure a place at an overseas university first before applying for scholarship?
If we accepted the overseas university offer but eventually did not get the scholarship, can we still reject the offer?
Thank you.
