What do you do if your child is being bullied?
-
I was most worried when I suspected my child was being physically bullied. Verbally, no problem because they like to ding zui (talk back).
-
Yes, physical have to be very concerned. I think verbal also is important, may have psychological/emotional impact on the child if not attended to.

Nothing, child can settle.

Interestingly, nobody seemed concerned about the child doing the bullying. I think he/she needs to seek help too. It’s too easy to simply say that the bully is aware of his bad behavior and can choose to stop it anytime.

That's a good and true point. There is a lot of highlight on the bullied and not enough societal awareness on the bullies, as bullies are often cast as deliberate bad children, which is not always psychologically true. Also, parents of bullies, who are having psycho-emotional issues, may also be too embarrassed to be vocal and speak up to say 'my child is a bully, but ...'. Not sure if the societal focus to highlight concern on the bullying child can happen easily though.

One of the points: \".. We must explain to our children that anyone who says something negative has a deep sadness in them, that’s why they are launching such hurtful comments in the first place. .. \"
Good and short read. DD told us about a bullying incident in her pri school. We were not sure if she was actually the one being bullied but took the opportunity to talk to her about it anyways.[/quote] -

I've never considered this before. I think I will be at a loss for words... :yikes:

What about parents who are \"bullied\" by their children?

Agree! We never know what the child has been through and why the child is doing such thing. Actually, both the bully and the child being bullied are victims. Each of them need help.
