Students can use these 2 list to sieve out the words they do not know (or know well enough) from the Primary CL syllabus.

Some schools are already beginning SA1 Oral examinations this week. Time for 'battle' 😂 :rahrah:

thank you chenlaoshi, I think the lists are very helpful..are these P4 to P6 words to know or they are just P6?

      Hi Mrs Kiasu,

The list are for the entire Primary CL syllabus. 😄

On a side note, the topic for one of the school's CL oral that has been conducted is \"being inconsiderate in the library\".

chenlaoshi, what are these words for? the Reading Aloud portion is it? Old or new textbook?

I vaguely remember the library one came out in last year's PSLE for one of the days?

The school thinks it'll appear again...never mind.

          Hi zeit,
          deardear07 raised https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=69&t=81235&start=2500#p1905957 previously 😄

It's the old textbook (i.e. the one this year's Pri 6 is using, not for next year's)
          https://i.ibb.co/Bz007Q8/sdsx.jpg\">
“识读字” --> 学生只要会认、会读就可以,虽列入考试范围,但不直接考查。(e.g. may appear as a text in 阅读理解,短文填空 compre/cloze passages but not in the form of tested question like in 1st section 语文应用)

“识写字” --> 学生必须会认、会读、会写、会用,属考试范围,可直接考查 (can be tested on the understanding directly, e.g. can be one of the mcq/cloze passage choices)。
Yes, behaviour in library was one of the PSLE oral topics tested last year. I was slightly surprised too. Perhaps they wanted to focus more on the language and articulation aspect (and/or to boost the student's confidence?).

            OK I see, a multi-purpose glossary 🙂 Tks!

Yeah, should expose kids to another setting/theme that requires diff descriptive words for behaviours/moral values, though overall Q&A framework remains the same.
just to check does your kid have time to attempt the past year exam papers during weekday after sch? as my kid's sch given a lot of homework everyday. I feedback to sch and was told the sch preparing them for psle. I only have weekend for the papers. and sometime I give her 3-4sets/day on weekend. not sure if this is normal.

              hi patlsy79,

on weekends, my dc also avg ard 4 to 5 papers per day.

              We are in trouble.

My boy finishes 1-2 papers only per day :yikes:
No trouble, no trouble. Quality not quantity. Do a lot but dunno how to do or understand the mistakes also no point. Just like my case.

choose some schools...make sure the child understands the questions and mistakes made. it's pointless to do the whole stack and make same mistakes.

under MOE new announced changes, eg. let only those (P4s and P6s) students take mid-year exam, while the rest of all other levels all can skip SA1 mid-year , seems like some schools encountered some hiccup ...

today is Term 2, week #3

for 2019 P6 students, many primary schools are going to start (Chinese / English) Oral, mid-year exam (SA1), either in week #5 (end of the month, April 2019), or in week #6 (Labor day, public holiday, that week).

All Main Papers (eg. Paper 2) for the 4 core subjects (English / Maths / Science / Chinese / Higher Chinese), commence in week #8 (the week, starting from 13 May Monday to 17 May 2019 Friday)

week 9 : Teachers to return all the marked exam scripts to P6 students, to verify (check) score (marks), before enter into Report card

week 10 : schools conduct \"P6 Parents-meet-Teachers\" Conference day, before June holiday start

Are there any SAP (or Non-SAP) schools, that skip 2019 P6 mid-year (SA1) exam : (Oral and Listening Comprehension Paper 3 and Paper 4, plus Composition / zuowen Paper 1) components ?

Our school does not skip any Sa1 component.

                      It’s all coming soon.

On a side note, is the myopia of anyone’s child climbing like some stock market from all this studying?

My child just changed her soecs in Feb and now she tells me she starts to have difficulty seeing the whiteboard in school. So this is the price we pay for results … its sad

                        hi bluepencil

We are fortunate DC doesnt require Spec though both parents are blind as a bat. We encourage them to practise healthy eyesight habits like studying in a well lit room or taking regular eye breaks. They dont really use screen time often and prefer to be outdoors. But P6 is definitely a hectic year for us!
