My son application was rejected by NUS. He is a PR. Is this the reason he was rejected?

It's very competitive to get into medicine. Lots of Singaporeans are rejected too, so I don't think your son's citizenship is the issue.

I don't think everyone who was rejected is on the waitlist. There would be hundreds on the waitlist if so. There probably is a short waitlist, prioritized by their performance in the FSA and SJT. Vacancies will only come up if those offered give up their places; usually these are students who decide to go overseas or who decide to go LKC or who decide medicine is not for them. Numbers will not be high, especially in light of the clamping down on recognized unis by MOH.

Sorry I have another question. How long is the BMAT valid? Can my nos 2 DD take in JC1?
BMAT is only valid for one year, and only can take jc2 nov which is before A level a few days.

Yes, he is now in OCT SPF
                    Take heart
Even 100% Singaporeans with swords of honour, multiple NS awards are rejected
I am not sure about Med, but it is quite tough for PR and Foreigners in other courses too.
                    However,
A girl I kn with 2 A a B is in medicine. She did 3H2. Not very outstanding CCA, just a council member. But she is a very pretty Singaporean pan Asian : )
So sometimes I do wonder what exactly is the criteria for Medicine these days.

Yes, it is very depressing for someone who work hard in academic and cca and cannot afford to go overseas for medicine.

                        Panickymummy,
It is sad to hear that NS man has so much rewards rejected by NUS/NTU medicine school. I suggest the child can apply nus medicine next year through EIS.
Did he apply LKC this year ? If not, he can take the BMAT and apply LKC next year.
Actually being a doctor need to have a heart for patients and really think of the patients need no matter whether patient is rich or poor.
