        Hi Everyone,

I will be sending my kid to PCPS next year - currently living in Woodlands and will be shifting to Upper Serangoon Road (near St. George) at the end of the year.

I don't think PCPS has started after school care yet so I was wondering if the parents here could share with me the after school care that you folks are using and what to expect? This is my first child going to primary school so I am not exactly sure what to expect although I suppose a pick-up service is probably necessary.

        Many thanks in advance!
all my kids in playfacto, its near to both the old school and the temporary school. by next year all will move back to old school anyway.

Will there be a school-based care when PCPS moves back to its old location?

Can parents share any other options besides playfacto that’s close to PCPS?

Hi fellow parents, can I check if it is normal for some parents not to meet the Teachers for the mid year parent teacher session? And how do the Teachers select which parents to meet? The school practically has zero homework and I’m not sure if he is progressing well in school.. 😓

Yes, all students take HCL starting from P1. At end of P4, students will be offered HCL in P5 if they qualify. If not, they will take standard chinese.

In the past, regardless if you are taking HCL or CL in P5/P6, all students continue to use HCL textbooks, taught HCL. (Preferred)

From this year P5, only those taking HCL are taught HCL and use HCL books. The rest all downgraded to CL.

Beginning of the year, p shared 2017 PSLE results. Impressive!

Highest score: 285 (that very smart indian boy who is effectively bilingual)
More than 50 students scored more than 260.
More than 70 students scored more than 250. (DD1 is not sure if these 70++ include the 50++ students above 260)

Anyway, we all know this is the work from previous p. All eyes now on this year p6. With all the drastic changes, we shall see.
sorry to revive an old post .... I called the school recently .. I was told for new intakes only P3-P4 takes HCL, P5-P6 is depending on grades. HCL is not offered to P1-P2. But from I read above, HCL was offered to P1 in 2018? So is PCPS deemphasising HCL and shift focus on more other aspects of Chinese culture as part of being SAP?

I have these questions because I'm weighing between HPPS and PCPS for my ds for 2020 intake.

existing PCPS parents, please share your thoughts. tia

I believe your information is wrong. Existing parent here.
                        My P2 is doing HCL.
HCL is offer to all P1 and P2 as a default.
