dd says she rather go for compo and paper 2 wor...I wonder if there is any hol prog for compo? I also suggested why not another dosage of Eng tuition? She told me huh already so busy...better read own notes at home since still not well verse with own notes and also havent go through own tuition notes thoroughly.
My dear, Compo requires consistent practice...Still, TAS' workshop looks neat: https://static1.squarespace.com/static/575a6079044262ac9d71f11d/t/5cc80cf97e326700017c8ebe/1556614393761/Examprep1info.pdf

I agree with her that she does Not need extra EL tuition during term time. And, if she has updated materials she can still learn from, yes, it is better that she revises at her own pace in the comfort+convenience of home.

SW&CW 27.5% (weighting) of EL paper

Seeing the insurmountable scores put forth here really scare me off…maybe I just wanna share my experience which hopefully can make parents do a reality check.

        1. PSLE is a t-score ie how well you do versus your peers so need not get above 91 for all subjects to get A*
        2. IMHO, PSLE is always easier than school exams cos it has to cater to the masses (there are a lot of weaker pupils out there)
        3. My girl got 4A* and HCL distinction last year (270). These are her school prelim results in P6 (she came from a popular primary sch)
        - Eng: 83
        - CL: 81
        - Maths: 100
        - Sci: 89
        - HCL: 75
My girl has no tuition except Chinese

Good morning. I saw this on my FB feed when scrolling today. It is specifically English Oral crash course. I don’t know if good or not, so please research more if u like:

Thanks dear, you are so thoughtful and helpful, went the extra mile to help me search for one. Much appreciated 😄 .

After taken a look, BTL psle English Oral workshop indeed looks good too. Let me sit down and evaluate, between BTL and the one recommended by sky. Will choose the one where date & timing doesn't clash into any DSA test date in June. June going to be very busy. Thank you, once again, dear 🙂

:yikes: Math 100%! impressive Imp75, yr dd's marks and not forgetting she was from a popular pri sch so can take the highest 0.7x..even higher than that for your gal 😓 ..for us, even 3 subj at best 80s can only use the lower 0.7x  but woah, yr gal is really a smart gal lei..

For my girls we did not apply pressure so PSLE was not pressurising at all. They even took part in a charity dance performance at end August. I think mindset is rather important here. I don’t know how they did it but maybe sch did really prepare them well.

For my two kids, I did send them for June holiday programs for Science answering techniques and Chinese oral class. For the 1 week Sept holiday, no. Sometimes, doing well in exam is also about acquiring the right “exam techniques”.

I was quite enthusiastic in doing revision with them once June holidays started, but by end of June, I would get lethargic and burnt out. So sending them for hol prog is not a bad thing while I take a breather.

And I also notice that my girls like to chit chat when put together to study, thus, for the first half of the June hol, I would send Mei Mei away for some hol prog while I did a 1-1 coaching with jie jie, and would subsequently send jie jie for 2nd half of June hol for some prog while I coached Mei Mei. I needed to separate the two of them to make the revision productive.

If you don’t make good use of June hol to prepare PSLE, I think that’s it, once school reopens, very fast it would be prelim and PSLE, no more time.

Thank you tryyourbest! I have asked my child to write a bit of compo everyday. Hopefully it will get the engine running.

                      Hi bluepencil & tryourbest,

Is your sa1 over, by end of next Friday (17 may) ?

If you happen to look for a Chinese oral workshop during coming June school holidays to prepare for Psle, chenlaoshi is organizing a second oral workshop on June (6 and 7, Thurs and friday).
I find the list of Chinese Oral topics he going to cover, useful. His first oral workshop is full house.

https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=85&t=93062&sid=c33a1d7719ad1331b1b716c766feb2a6&start=20[/quote]Thanks for the shout out, phtthp. Gonna be the 3rd time running workshops for KSP community. All workshops are full except the 2nd oral session. Looking forward to meeting more KSP parents (& their kids) - even tough I still do not know their usernames 😂).
