Oh thank you so much, we were buried in SA1 exams and only saw this now. 2 more papers to go , Thurs is last day of SA1. Even our tuition teacher, a chem engineer senior feel the stress from our Science and Math exams ..

you let her borrow, she will max out 3 Nlb cards…more than 30books lor. and most will be chinese books plus comics…now only 2, she will borrow likely Rick Riordan books I guess as recently she is into it…I would prefer her to relax, go swimming and playing with meimei etc…

I believe MKS also want to bakance her girl’s time with reading storybooks & revising for the impt PSLE in 4 mtms’ time.

MKS, maybe can set targets for yr DD to complete 2 topics revision/practice then read 2 chapters of storybook (just suggesting example). So this way you can help her balance her time with working hard in equal measure to pleasure time.

Yes, also going outdoors is good for young kids - some sun, some sweat. Healthy wor. She’ll feel high adrenaline and can focus better with emery in her blood & endorphins surging to get her brains working. Too much time indoors makes one rather lethargic methinks.

Yup achieving a balance is important.


I can totally see a diff in dd after some outdoor play.

Prior to outdoor play, u will hear comments such as " I’m so tired… I’m slpy… I’m having a headache… My eyes want to close already… "

After outdoor play n a gd shower = " Mum! I’m ready to study! I promise I will study hard ok? "

More productive as well… Although the energy and attention will usually lasts around an hr or so… I faster ‘grab’ before she turns sleepy again.

Yes. It’s the endorphins generated when they hv good blood circulation. Blood brings more oxygen to the brain so attention is better after those happy moments. Outdoor stretches sets their blood in good circulation. Good for child in puberty so they’re not so sluggish. Sluggishness makes them tired & sleepy.


P6 age besides giving time for outdoors also need enuf sleep for their growth spurts. So for those parents who’ve not prepare kids early fr P3 will hv a lot more struggle with time - for studies, for outdoor & for rests.

How many hrs of slp does yr pri 6 kids have now? What time is their bed time on a Sch day? Any naps?
