Your child will still need to accept one of the offered places via the acceptance portal before the 24 May due date as no assurance that the NTU LKC waitlist will eventually convert to an offer.
Last year when we checked with NTU, they told us they will handle the admin part on the transfer if we so decide to accept their subsequent offer after the 24 May.
      Hi, Parent456,
Appreciate your advise. This means if LKC did not offer u the place by 24 May, u just accept the others, then later u just ask for transfer, right ? How should NTU LKC inform your girl the offer ? Through email or phone ? Please advise. Thanks a lot.

Yes - to accept your next best offer pending the eventual outcome of the waitlist. We received the subsequent offer from NTU LKC through email and given only a few days to consider and decide if we want to accept the offer.

For Med school applicants, most of them have excellent academic results and med school have vast pool of candidates to choose. Post secondary academic results only demonstrate the candidate academic background and ability to undertake medical study which is very demanding.

Next the schools are looking for candidates who really want to be a doctors ( not candidate that try their luck) and can be good doctors in the future. Hence all the other requires /tests come in. YLL SJT and FSA; NTU BMAT and MMI; your CCA , awards, references and personal statement.

For a candidate that demonstrate a military general potential, the chances is that he will be turn down. While a acceptable candidate who can strongly demonstrate the quality of a good doctor and want to be a doctor via tests / interview / CCA and references stands a better chance of been accepted whether the candidate is a 100% Singaporean for PR.

Also, don't stain yourself with police record or Hep B.

On LKC Imperial stint, all final year students have to made 2 elective choices, 1 local and 1 overseas, beside opportunities in Imperial ( may not be able to take all students in the cohort) students can apply to other overseas medical schools/ hospitals or specialised medical institutions. Medical electives are between 4 to 6 weeks to my knowledge.

            Hope my opinion help.
            57dolphin,
            Thanks for your points.
NS man usually has less time to prepare for YLL SJT and FSA; NTU BMAT and MMI as their training is very tough.
Girl is more mutual than boy at age of 19.
Anyway, if u are very keen to study medicine, u can apply DUke medicine school with SMU or SUTD or Nus or Yale now to secure the place.

              Gardenia64,

Thanks for your advice, however I am not applying for med school.
I know the challenges for student preparing for Med school application and the demand and the differences between both the 5 years and the 4+4 years routes.

The need to try to get a prefect post secondary score, preparing for final post secondary exams while at the same time preparing for BMAT. Some students may have great pressure while others may have a slight advantage due to the timing of both. BMAT is quite challenging. Read somewhere there are students who take 1 year to prepare for BMAT.

Preparing personal statement ( which include seeking the right people to review your personal statement) and seek suitable people who can write recommendation letters for you.

Anyway good luck to you or your DC. Enjoy the pre clinical and clinical.

              Regards

Hi for parents who 's DS/DD got enrolled in NUS / NTU medicine, can I consult you is CCA Leadership play a very important role in the application? What if the kid is not in a leadership position, not even a council member, does it mean a slim chance?

And how about H3, will it stand a better chance if choose H3 in JC2?

                    Hi,

Can anyone share if your dc received nus offer after the initial mass-acceptance stage, did your dc made an appeal?

Basically, I’m trying to find out if there is any chance in appealing for medicine.

                    Thanks.

Anyone received good news from NUS medicin yet?
Someone called NUS and they said that they already have some names for next week, they just have to wait for the deadline to end…
