My DC’s overall total dived by 17 marks compared to P5 SA2. Probably partly due to stress as I find the standard of the questions reasonable. I believe most schools will not reveal mean/average statistics anymore. Torn between increasing intensity of revision or go slower to relax the pace. Anyway seems like many of the holiday revision classes are all full. Thought most parents would wait till results out to find out the gaps, but apparently not so. Even September holiday revision classes are open for registration now.

Oh sorry, MrsKS, I was referring to the post by phtthp on the scores for that outstanding student. (sorry, i forgot to quote) Thinking if those scores during sch exams would most likely translate to 4A* during psle?
depend on how close (wide) is the gap (difference), between that student's primary school Prelim (SA2) papers' standard been set for the 4 subjects, compared to the actual coming 2019 PSLE (15 and 16 August Oral upon 50 marks, plus September main Written papers, plus Composition Situational Writing upon 15 marks / Continuous Writing upon 40 marks / Chinese zuowen papers, plus Listening Comprehension)

some students do better in Prelim overall, than in actual PSLE, while the reverse is also true for others, ie. they do better in actual PSLE than at Prelim
since thousands of P6 students are taking this National exam, and SEAB need to segregate A * from A students, inside this pool of thousands of candidates : SEAB bound to set some tricky questions here and there -

Science is a killer. Topics many plus needing to know what concepts to apply to sometimes innocent looking tricky questions. -

You don’t get to see the raw score, and none the wiser whether your A* is 91 or 99. -

For prelim coming up next : the prelim timetable is such that for languages (English & chinese), both paper 1 and paper 2 fall on the same day , \"jialut\", ie. one before recess, the other after recess. So, u might want to start figuring out, planning your own personal revision timetable this week, how to go about ensure that your child is able to complete revision on time, for both languages' paper 1 and 2. Currently for sa1, usually schools' sa1 exam timetable have both language papers 1 and 2, on different separate days
Psle exam timetable for languages also the same : both paper 1 and 2 fall on the same day -
For dc’s school, science subject is the one which most students even in the top class are unable to score well. Usually lost a lot of marks due to OE.
Doesn’t help when science period is very little as compared to other subjects and the teacher is always absent!
For my dc, she has interest in science and able to pick up science concepts faster than other subjects. But she also lost marks mainly in OE. Need to drill on answering techniques this holiday.
