I’ve come across school P asks parents to reflect address of both parents as same or withdraw, as MOE system flag this out. Better call MOE or talk to P to verify again.

Hi just a quick question. Hubby nric is his jurong address which he co-owned with his mother.
we have our own plc in bt batok.
So if p1 registration use my address can??? Is it okay mother & father address different?? Or my hub die die have to go change the address to bt batok?

When u got married, both yr DH & yourself need to align yr matrimonial address record of yr NRIC at the police post or post offices within 28 days. Failure will be an offense committed under The NATIONAL REGISTRATION ACT
(CHAPTER 201). Many ppl on the street aren’t aware of this regulation.
Under section 8(1)'Change of residence' of the National Registration Act,
Any person registered under the provisions of this Act who changes his place of residence shall, within 28 days thereof, report the change to a registration officer.
Under section 13(1)(b) 'Offences and penalties' of the National Registration Act,
Any person who fails to report his change of residence as required under section 8
shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 5 years or to both.
P1 Registration wld require both parents I/C reflect same unless u hv cause e.g. overseas posting, etc.

I would like to rent out 2 of my bedrooms (2 people per room) and noticed that hdb only allow 6 occupiers including owners for a flat. My Daughter is an authorised occupier but she is currently not staying in Singapore. I was thinking to remove her from the list in order to register 4 of my tenants. Will it have any implications when register for P1. The school near my house is a popular school in my estate. I will be doing PV but no guarantee will get a place. If can’t get for Phase 2B, then might need to ballot for phase 2C based on distance which is less than 1KM. May I know the address is based on parent’s IC address or based on registered address in HDB occupiers list? Thank you. -

It is based on parents’ IC address. But there are also penalties for making false declaration to the school when you register. Isn’t your daughter going to be moving back to SG by P1 registration period? You will eventually have to put her back in as occupier and kick out at least 1 tenant.

I suggest you do a tenancy agreement for 1 year only. Then you can kick them out & add your daughter back in as occupier, in time for 2020 P1 registration.
If you don’t, the risk is your tenants will use the same address for P1 registration. Then police may come and check why got unrelated children living with you. -

Currently the address on my IC is not my residential address, it’s the address of my in-law, I’m not intended to change it because I will use this same address to register the primary school of my daughter next year. However, recently I’m planning to hire a domestic helper and it require me to change the address on my IC to my residential address. So my question here, can I change my IC address to my current residential address and change it back to my in-law’s address later and use it to register the primary school for my daughter? Does it require that I must reside in that address for certain timeframe BEFORE i can register the school nearby that address? Thank you

Firstly, you are running / have run foul of the National Registration Act as you must report a change of address within 28 days of moving.
Secondly, if you changed your address to your current residential address now, and you switch back to your in-law's address, you will need to update MOM as your FDW have to follow the employer's address. Otherwise, you run foul of MOM law as your FDW cannot work in another address, i.e. she cannot work in your residential address once you make the switch back to your in-law's address.
Thirdly, say you register using your in-law's address. While you do not have to reside in that address for certain time frame, you will have to stay for at least 30 months in that address. Any issues raised or investigation found that you are not residing in that address (which, err... you obviously aren't), may lead to fine / jail and transfer of school for your child. Also means, in that 30 months, you can't change address to reflect your real residential address.
By the way, MOM and MOE are very on the ball over addresses these days (more so MOM). I would advise that you think twice / thrice / four times about using a false address. Best solution would be:
1. Sell / rent out your place - shift in with in-laws or rent a place nearby
2. Do a stat declaration which puts your in-law's address in the 1-2km category
3. Find another school -

Actually why I want to use my sis in law address to register the school is due to they will help me to fetch the kids or take care the kids after school until I finish work. But I can’t do the stat declaration because my sis in law isn’t entirely not working but just having flexi time and can work from home. Moreover, my kids do occasionally stay there when I need to travel for business. Now I dunno whether I should give up hiring a FDW due to this address issue.
