I just checked onemap.sg. I stay 2.2 km from st Hilda primary and 750 m from gong Shang. Can I apply for those staying 2 km from shps? Pls advise . I don't mind doing parent volunteer too. Thanks

You should use the School Query function in onemap to confirm the distance category you are in. This is the official source used by schools.

Thanks for the info . After using the school query it shows I am 1.98km from st Hilda's . What r my chances like? I viewed the balloting history but don't really understand it. Sorry for my ignorance. I m keen to apply as a PV and hope someone can share some tips. Tia.

OneMap School Query does not show decimal points. It only has <1km or <2km (fixed number category). Are you sure you’re using it correctly??

May I know, usually after selected as PV, school will call parents how many weeks later?


We have been waiting for a few months and asked them but so far no PV job yet, and it looks like we need to wait several months more.

In this case, we may be difficult to complete 40 hours?

4 ours, we were informed of our successful PV in Jul, n we were able to clock d 40 hrs in 4 mths.

The school didnt even want us to clock more than d 40 hours to let others have the opportunity to complete their 40 hrs.

These are the challenges associated with PV.
The first challenge is getting into the scheme. The next challenge is clocking the required hours.

Some schools are proactive in allocating duties; others are reactive. I would suggest that you continue to get in touch with the person ic of PV and let him / her know that you are open for anything - librarian, traffic marshals, book keepers, etc
