Hi!
Personally my kids and I like the thick book โDaily Dose of Englishโ. The font is big, and it has different components coverage. So they find it less boring.
Thank you for the reply.
Does it cover all the ccomponents as well? Tia -

I am sorry to hear about your situation.
Hi all,
I have a 2 year old toddler. My mother, 67, refuses to look after him, her grandson. She says she has a lot of community programmes, playing Pickleball, meeting her friends, shopping and volunteering at Fei Yue. Most of the looking after of my son, since birth, is done by my in-laws, 77 and 75.
My in-laws now have Covid and are out of action for 2 weeks, at least. My mother refuses to look after her grandson. She says she has been bullied by my father her whole life, and will not be bullied by me.
I am thinking of cutting my mother out of my life forever. Just like she refused to look after my son, I will refuse to look after her when she is dying. What do you think I should do?
Even for myself, my mother is not very keen in looking after my child . Her health is not good and thus I do not want to burden her.
why don't you look for alternative arrangement like Infant care?
By cutting ties with her, it would not solve your problem. In my opinion, many people would think that it is the mother's responsibility and duty to care for their young. your mum would want to spend her time doing what she wants instead of being tied down. She is not wrong too, it is her choice and life . -

what you suggested are very good. In our busy life, we always overlook on these simple things. Thank u so much for the reminder. ๐
Before doing Maths on paper, assess whether your child understands the Maths concepts in concrete terms, in daily life. Doing Maths in books is just learning notation; she has to understand the Maths in reality first. For e.g., can she understand that if she has 3 cookies, and you have 2 cookies, the total is 5? And if you take away one of her cookies, she will have 2? She should be able then to easily translate those to 3+2=5, 3-1=2, 2+1=3, etc.
If you don't already do so, you can easily introduce Maths concepts in daily life - count things, compare amounts, combine and separate things. I found that this made all the difference when later getting kids to do Maths on paper (my 2 girls are now adults). -
