Whether you hire a FDW or not is secondary TBH.
I want to use my sis in law address to register the school is due to they will help me to fetch the kids or take care the kids after school until I finish work. But I can’t do the stat declaration because my sis in law isn’t entirely not working but just having flexi time and can work from home. Moreover, my kids do occasionally stay there when I need to travel for business. Now I dunno whether I should give up hiring a FDW due to this address issue.
If you maintain using the in-law address, you are clearly breaking the law by not updating NRIC. You would also like to further break the law by using a false address to register. Frankly, it’s kinda hard to offer you any advice within that perimeters TBH. FYI, MOE has been on the alert and more aggressive in investigating applicants using false address. I would strongly urge you to reconsider your plans or do a SD. -
Recently I overheard some mothers discussing using the relatives’ addresses to register for popular schools. These relatives can be parents’ siblings or cousins, and kids are not cared for at that address at all. But these parents seem to think it is SAFE to just use the address and won’t be caught.
If parent cites a relative as “caregiver”, then they don’t need to change address on parent’s NRIC. How can MOE effectively verify such claims?
I just think it is so ridiculous and unfair. -
Their distance priority will become more than 1Km.
Generally for popular school, balloting is already required for less than 1Km. -

MOE doesn’t verify such claims in these instances. However, as firstda says, the 1km become 1-2km during registration, which will put the most popular schools out of reach.

Do you mean if a parent uses “caregiver”’s address, even if it is within 1km, at registration, it will be grouped with the 1-2km category? Is it for all phases?
Sorry I am confused. Pls enlightened. Thanks. -

yes, I remember I saw it last time stated the caretaker must not be working. Good that they have taken it out, then most likely I will do the declaration to use caretaker address.
Interest. Apparently, MOE did some tweaking to the statutory declaration. Gone are the explicit requirement of the caregiver not working (was previously stated as such): https://beta.moe.gov.sg/primary/p1-registration/home-address/jedamum\" post_id=\"1917681\" time=\"1562256401\" user_id=\"159:
Tammyyhc,
Is it a requirement for care giver to be not working?
I didn't read the details, but what stands out from my browsing is
. If the caregiver’s address is successfully used for priority admission, you will have to continue with the same childcare arrangement at the same address for at least 30 months from the start of P1 registration on 3 July 2019.
If not, your child may be transferred to another school with vacancies.
. Your sch distance using caregiver address for cases involving balloting will be under 1-2 km even if that addresses is 500m from the school.
. The address used for P1 registration must be on the parents’ Nric unless u register under the caregiver clause.
If your address (assuming you not hiring maid and chooses to use the Nric address which is your in law place n not going for caregiver registration route) is successfully used for priority admission, your family must live there for at least 30 months from the start of P1 registration on 3 July 2019. If not, your child may be transferred to another school with vacancies.
In short, if you are not staying in that address you should not be using it as your address for registration.

Then if the caregiver is not working. It works for alot of mothers as mentioned above. Using parent’s relatives’ address. But then it will still fall under 1-2km, ha!

Hi.
If I rent a place <1km from the school to increase my chances but eventually manage to get my child in without the home-distance factor coming into play, do I still need to stay at the rented place for at least 30 mths from the start of P1 registration?
