2019 P1 Registration Exercise for 2020 In-take
-
Dear Parents,
If I have used my address for Phase 2C and failed to secure a slot, will decide to use my mum’s address (with declaration) for Phase 2CS. In the event, if 2CS failed again, MOE will help to select a school for my child.
My question is
1) MOE will choose a school based on my mum or my address?
2) Are we able to reject the school that was selected in Phase 3? -
Yup i know there are 40 places cut.but is 2A2 usually high take up rate?don’t know how to interpret the charts. 😬

2018 intake was 240, This year is 200. It's a reduction.

the applicants for 2A2 this year is 25. in 2018, 35 applied. the reduction in overall number reduced the total available for 2A1.
I dont think there is any chart posted this year.

From MOE website:
Dear Parents,

2) Are we able to reject the school that was selected in Phase 3?
What happens if my child is balloted out from the current phase in the Primary One (P1) Registration Exercise?
Answer:
If your child is unsuccessful in a particular Phase (e.g. Phase 2C) of the P1 Registration Exercise, you can still register your child in another school that still has available vacancies in the next phase (e.g. Phase 2C Supplementary).
If your child is unsuccessful at Phase 2C Supplementary, MOE will facilitate your child’s placement to a school with available vacancies. You will be informed of the posted school on the date of Phase 2C Supplementary result announcement through Short Messaging System (SMS).
I presume if you done a SD, then SD will be used subsequently, and i dont think you can reject but you can call MOE if you want.
I know there is preferred school choices, but is there alternative other than choosing that particular school in 2C then another address for 2Cs then switch back address or reject? -
The applicants for 2A1 is 25 out of 57 for Temasek. So now its left 32 for 2A2 for next week’s registration.Yes,there is no 2018 charts to refer to …so hoping there will be overflow

Its back to distance then ballot for the next phase as it is not enough. -
Lexy, how do you and chief Kiasu know how many SCs applied within <1km and whether or not they ballotted?
are these data released from MOE ? -

MOE doesn't release the numbers, some kind parent post the numbers, you can try to dig previous years chat to find (it's really treasure hunting). Another way is to assume; If traditionally, its balloting with 1km, we assume all come from 1km and all SC (thats a worse case scenario planning). Of course we know there are lost sheeps and hope for the best people who will register - like PRs and SCs >1km and didnt withdraw when the TUR is filled up with SC<1km.

Moving forward, maybe more people would like to feedback to MOE using this easy online form: https://www.moe.gov.sg/feedback
I for one have given my feedback to request specifically for them to post the distance breakdown of applicants on their website.
There was a nice personal email (with signature from a human being) replying that they will look into it. Whether sincere or not I don’t know, but if more parents make known their needs, hopefully down the road it will happen. Let’s press for better changes (not these silly cosmetic changes like portal interface design only).
