You can take Maris Stella at 2A2, then decide if you want to shift to Maris Stella in the future. that is if you are not bounded by any MOP.[/quote]To add on, if you really decides to move, can stay within 1km of CHIJ Primary (Toa Payoh) for your DD.
I would suggest to seriously consider going back to Maris Stella as it is a good school with affiliation. That is if you are driving and willing to get up early to send him to school and then work.Davischew\" post_id=\"1918911\" time=\"1562816530\" user_id=\"132882:

My spouse did not study in a local primary school and my primary school was Maris Stella, but its too far from my place and I prefer a co-ed school so my other kid can get in more easily next time haha.
Actually the only school within 1km is Henry Park, and the next closest but out of the 1km range are Pei Tong and Fairfield Methodist. But Henry Park is always ballot so yeah... just have to go in and see how that turns out
To leave the fate to balloting is a \"terrible experience\" no one wants to give a 2nd shot. And besides, Henry Park is too hot and those not gotten a place in 2C, will have very limited 2CS choices near there, and it will not be a school of your choice.
You can go in Maris Stella at 2A2 1st, then when 2C last day, monitor the stats at the school. If your heart wants you to ballot at Henry Park after seeing the no. of applicants vs vacancies, then withdraw from Maris Stella and register for ballot at 2C. -

are these data released from MOE ?
I stationed 10 schools and skii stationed 50.

Thank you all for your kind advice! This has certainly provided a much needed realistic perspective on what choices I have in this big lottery game haha. Really appreciate it from the bottom of my heart!

This is not a lottery game! Lottery has really bad odds. Take this as a calculated risk investment. This is the single most important decision in life, besides choosing your spouse

I quite agree with you. Seeing my child happy to go to school daily and making good friendships, thatβs better than gold.

Having said that though, kids are resilient creatures and adapt to cope with whatever school they are allocated. I know some kids who dislike their school environment & are miserable there, yet (for lack of experiencing other possible options) absolutely refuse to change schools when given the chance. -

Never treat it as a lottery, its deliberate and calculated risk and informed decision making.

the official range in 2C should be around 1.3 to 1.5 applicant per vacancy.
PS: there is a tendency for people to register in that particular school that you stay close to although they are more than 1km or they are PR. -

By the way, the standard of \"newbie\" is extraordinary high this year.
From Past data, if TUR for Phase 2A is < 49%, or Phase 2B < 74%, we have a high chance for 1-2km to ballot.
Now at 2A1, TUR already 49%. Usually for 2A2 it will increase at least 12% means total 61% TUR at 2A.
I would suggest to go for a backup school.
Public forum doesn't seem to be the official way to discuss this topic nowadays. Alot of lizards and lurkers hanging around and holding the cards very closely.
Anyway, if you have gotten any help here and would be kind enough to leave some hint and data after you successfully gotten your spot, please provide breakdown distance breakdown (SC/PR) for future treasure hunters to find. -

Sorry where do you guys see acsp requires balloting for SC within 1km over past two years?
RED colour always means proceed with caution.
2016 Balloting for SC<1km
2017 balloting for SC >2km
2018 All SC <1km went in.
2019 TUR until 2A1 is higher than 2015, 2017 and 2018 now. (lower than 2016)
