Hi all. Need some clarification here. I saw on MOE website that said

“At the end of Phase 2A(2), remaining places will be split equally between Phases 2B and 2C. ”

I always thought whatever places that’s leftover at phase 2A(2) will be carried forward to 2B? But now it appears that it will be split?

Nothing new. It has always been the case. Split equally between 2B and 2C.

If odd number, then 2B gets 1 more than 2C.

Is there any Sembawang parents here to give review? I am considering Wellington & Endeavour. Any parents here to give more information for this 2 school?

Hi Lexy, are you familiar with the schools you previously mentioned? I'm just trying to explore other co-ed schools nearby besides BTPS. As Queenstown seems to be ballotting at 2C, I see that Gan Eng Seng, NewTown and Alexandra primary seems safe for 2C even for PR given they still have places at 2CS? Appreciate any views from others, I have a twin boy and girl hence considering co-ed.

Queenstown could be safe. You should monitor the number of applications till the last day before you decide. GES and New Town are definitely safe. Alexandra is not. Hence, you have 3 safe schools (including BTPS) and 1 possible safe school to choose from in Phase 2C. I think that’s quite a good number to choose from.

While waiting for Phase 2C, you should explore the schools’ website, visit their Open House (if available) and observe the general surroundings before you decide which is a good fit for your children. Few schools would be able to tick all the boxes but if they serve the majority of your needs and wants, probably good enough.

I am only familiar with their stats and balloting history. if you want to keep your options open, select a 2B catholic school, you can decide if you want to enrol to the particular school in 2C if there are available ones.
            Like what Master floppy mentioned,

            Alexandra no chance for PR,
GES and New town and BTPS safe
QTS - if you stay within 1km, then maybe got some slight chance. (lets wait for some visibility after 2A2)

Everyone has a different criteria in selecting school, I prefer a missionary school that also focus on character, balance and giving to others. (Doesnt mean other schools dont do it)

Just wanted to confirm that during Phase 2C, if we register at a school, we can also withdraw the application within the phase itself.

i.e. its not a requirement that the withdrawal is after the results of that phase?
Can somone confirm if there is such provision for online system? register and withdraw online? or register online and then withdraw only at the school?

Did some more research and it seems that the P1-IS online system \"might\" also have a feature for withdrawing the school previously registered. Although the instructions are not very clear. There is also no online guide
Information extracted from the MOE FAQ site below.

                Anyone can confirm?

Yes, within the phase is 10% ok.

Nope, the odd number goes to 2c.

                    (Although it sounded strange)

I’ve called in to ask before but I have not monitor the actual data.

Skii, I believe we’ve already had this exact same discussion in the 2018 thread. And Lexy responded with data calculations to verify that the extra one goes to the next phase, which is 2B.
