i'm curious if the MOE kindergarten pupils able to register in 2A2 has any effect on the numbers for the current phase

There is a definite effect. However, the impact is not evenly felt.
For example: Fern Green, Sengkang Green, Springdale in SK and Oasis, Punggol Green, Punggol View in PG are some examples of those schools with an uptick in numbers (most / all don’t have any alumni with children of school going age). Others see less or no significant difference in their numbers.

Just a quick round up for the possible \"MK Effect\" for Phase 2A2 (for schools with K2 only). Schools with > 50 applicants are in bold.

      North:
      Northoaks - 11 for 156
      Riverside - 66 for 72

      Northeast:
      Oasis - 59 for 133
      Punggol Cove - 31 for 113
      Punggol Green - 64 for 74
      Punggol View - 50 for 129

      Waterway - 28 for 152
      Fern Green - 44 for 169
      Sengkang Green - 73 for 118
      Springdale - 60 for 125

      South:
      Farrer Park - 9 for 82
      Blangah Rise - 4 for 35

      East:
Gongshang - 37 for 72 (??? should be affiliated to MK @ Tampines)

      West:
      Dazhong - 23 for 83
      West Spring - 57 for 63
      Frontier - 64 for 92
      Westwood - 62 for 80

CONCLUSION (IMHO of course 😉 😞
      - MK has a BIG effect and will have a BIG role to play in the phases to come.

      - Parents aiming for schools housing MK but entering in much later Phases (2B and 2C)... good luck and 🙏 :xedfingers: because you are going to need it. Most, especially those in bold, have less seats available this year (and likely in the years to come if the pattern holds).

      - Some of these schools are traditionally 'back-up' schools for Phase 2Cs. If that's your game plan, good luck. They may no longer be an option in Phase 2Cs

        TEMASEK PRIMARY SCHOOL
        METHODIST GIRLS' SCHOOL (PRIMARY)
        TAO NAN SCHOOL
        RULANG PRIMARY SCHOOL
        CHIJ PRIMARY (TOA PAYOH)
        ANGLO-CHINESE SCHOOL (PRIMARY)
        PEI HWA PRESBYTERIAN PRIMARY SCHOOL
        CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL
        ST. ANDREW'S JUNIOR SCHOOL
        CHIJ ST. NICHOLAS GIRLS' SCHOOL
        ROSYTH SCHOOL

The above have worse off vacancy to start off in 2B than in last year (dragon year) and have deficit as compared to 2018 applicants - should be a primary fight zone.
Temasek lost 11 spots and look set to be back for balloting for the first time since 2013
MGS lost 10 spots and looks to be balloting within 1km
TNS looks tougher although traditionally has been a <1km fight zone (lost 9 spots)
RPS, CHIJ TPY, ACSP lost 6, 5, 4 respectively.

Other interesting mover is St Hilda which saw a significant increase in vacancies and alot of eligible folks will be eyeing on it. Kong Hwa also saw an increase in vacancies.
Eyeing on St. Hilda now.. But the ration for 2C should be still around 2. So better keep Poi Ching as our 1st choice..

Hi, any advice for PR girl for Phase 2C:

          1> Edgefield < 1km
          2> Oasis < 1km
          3> Waterway 1-2km

should i register on the last day of Ph 2C to monitor first?
You should have an opening for Edgefield and Waterway. Hence, I will keep those two in mind.

No point rushing to apply on the first day. Monitor and decide which of the two schools to pick from and register on the last day.

Many parents smart already. All register last day afternoon. Numbers you see are not a true reflection of demand.

For the benefit of parents going for the 3 popular catholic boys school in 2B.

              Numbers are for 2017 registration…

              SJI Jr
              59 vacancies, 82 applied
              Balloting >2km
42 applicants vying for 27 vacancies.

              Maris Stella
              69 vacancies, 63 applied
              Balloting >2km
              45 vying for 27

              Catholic High
              28 vying for 24
              Balloting for <1km

No details on number of PRs for the 3 schools.

                      Hi all,

I am intending to monitor a few schools during Phase 2B day 1 before making a decision on day 2 based on my chances. Does anyone know if schools will give the figures (no. of applicants and chances) over the phone? Or do you have to go down to the school to ask? I can't imagine having to travel between 3 or 4 schools every couple of hours!

I was intending to go with St Gabriels Primary as my safe choice in Phase 2B >2km, but it seems like they have more applicants this year than last! And ironically, SJIJ and Maris Stella have better figures this year than last! Getting really nervous that it would be a balloting for ALL 3 schools this year for 2B>2km!

these figures from https://balloting.xyz/ (big thanks to whoever who did this!)

Why not schools nearer to you?
