Hi…how do you guys manage with logistics on days where there are CCAs?
I live in simei as well and am wondering about pick up etc after school as both my hubby and I work full time.
Thanks… -
Hello all. We are considering options for our 5 year-old and are wondering if any parents here have transferred their child from Haig Girls to Rosyth, or vice versa. If you have done so, please could you share why, and how would you compare the culture and environment of both schools? Thank you all in advance.

Transfer from Haig Girls to Rosyth is hard, because Rosyth is GEP school, and they are quite selective with students, who are trying to seek Transfer. P3 students usually get transferred into Rosyth, via clearing end of p3 Gep test.

For students trying to transfer into Rosyth (Mainstream), at end of P3 and P4 : very difficult. Have a few friends, they put their sons on Wait-list for such a long time at Rosyth, for a few years since P1, not just 2 years, in the end when they reached end of P4, still no news, no hope.
Try not to transfer.
Decide out front, which school u want ? You want Haig Girls, or want Rosyth ?
Why create headache for yourself, transferring here and there for ? -
Yeah. Why not just move to <1km of Rosyth and join the balloting. If balloted out, you can still get into Haig Girls at 2CS, no?

No guarantees. Haig Girls' can be a 'weird' one. I guess a lot depends on the number of PR registering in Phase 2C.

Really? If Rosyth alumni, should not be too difficult to get an invite to the next sports day or whatever cultural event. Bring your girl there to take a look at the culture.

Similarly for Haig Girls, I think they will have a public Open House or some other event (for public). Just go and take a look and ask more questions there. -

If she is indeed Rosyth Alumni, the first important thing she need to confirm is : got any school bus from her house (near HGS), go to Rosyth @ Serangoon North ?

If suppose no school bus, next question is : how to go Rosyth then, everyday ? Does she drive, her spouse drive, then what about the return trip back home from school, who fetch ? If cannot resolve transport issue, then only way out is, choose Haig Girls. As long as her daughter is SC, is safe for HGS -

Thank you all for your response! Yes Davis is correct - we live near HGS and are not sure if we should put our kid (and ourselves) through the trouble of commuting to Rosyth. We have visited both schools and have also spoken to some parents whose children are in each of the schools, but are still not sure of the decision to make - thus hoping to gather some insight from parents whose children have been to both Rosyth and HGS here!
