CHS - ballot < 1km in Phase 2C.Jijibao77\" post_id=\"1922552\" time=\"1564031908\" user_id=\"150780:
Hi all,
I’m new to this as well. Currently living less than 1km away from Catholic High and between 1km to 2km for both Kuo Chuan Presbyterian and St Gabriel’s. We were planning to register for Catholic High but also opened to Kuo Chuan and St Gabriel’s. Should I still try for Catholic High still or change to either KCP or St Gab?
Thanks in advance.
KCPPS - ballot between 1 to 2km. Therefore, you are not much better off with this option.
St Gab - unlikely to ballot / ballot > 2km. Therefore, you may as well wait for Phase 2CS.
Stick with CHS for Phase 2C. No guts, no glory.
If didn't get your place in CHS, head for St Gab in Phase 2CS. -

Hello all,
I am new to primary school registration and would like to ask the following question. A bit of background is I am staying 1-2km for both poiching and st hildas which are the nearest school to my place. No other nearer school that's within 1km *sob sob* and I am only qualified for 2C, both me and child are SC. And I've heard both schools usually required balloting so I was wondering:
- I understood that the website of application will be updated daily for 2C during the few days of registration period. Should I wait until the last day of application and check the number of application first before deciding to go to poiching or st hildas? Does it even work that way?
- Is the best way to assess risk of 2c is to look at the actual applicant in 2018 and compare to the vacancy left? There is no way for us to see if the applicant are belonging to less than 1km or 1-2km?
- any other useful advice for first time newbie?
Thank you all!Lexy\" post_id=\"1922489\" time=\"1564022438\" user_id=\"12180:

Poi Ching is -43 and St hilda is -35
Most likely both <1km ballot. Even in a situation where poi Ching encounter a balloting for 1-2km, the odd is v low.
You can adopt a wait and see for the results to unveil to you, look at the last day and then proceed to apply.
Please look for alternative as the odds is stacking against you. -
There seems to be a disadvantage for parents who can’t physically monitor and
register at a school for P2C (that may require balloting)
Online registration ends at 4.30pm on Wednesday, 31 July 2019’
while
Registration at school ends at 4.30pm on 1 August 2019 -
Wanted to ask about the registration process at the school.
The below website has the forms for all phases.
Do we have to download and fill these up and bring to school for onsite registration?
https://www.moe.gov.sg/admissions/primary-one-registration/application-forms
I am Not sure but somehow I did not see this link in the main P1 registration pages. But these ended up on the Google results.
Anyone can advice/ confirm?

The school will provide you with the forms onsite, stamped with their school stamp and with a carbon copy receipt.

These online forms for download are for applicants who are overseas and cannot come back. They had to Pre-register a few weeks ago. Which has closed by now. -

That has always been the case. Aren’t you able to take half a day leave for this important life event?

U can try to call the school to beg them for the distance breakdown (givung your valid reason why you can’t be there). Or ask some kind friends and relatives to check for you. -

Use the forms given by the school because they are a series of carbon copies which one of it (PARENT'S COPY) need to be retained by you when registering.
As a first time registrant, I went to fill in the forms via PDF and printed them out before registration only to be told flatly during registration that we should be using their copy instead. -

Fill in Pdf and have few copies ready to go to diff school (if needed).
Thanks so much for clarification. -

Can I confirm that I can be on standby on 1 Aug and check the latest application status for both poiching and st Hilda's at says 12pm, and go to apply the one that doesn't have application more than available slot? Thanks![/quote]Since you are > 1km from St Hilda Primary School, you can skip the school and not waste your time.
Your only hope, and a slim one at that, is Poi Ching. By the end of second day, you should have an idea from MOE website your chances (I suspect applicants > vacancies). On the last day, you can drop by the school and ask (nicely) for a breakdown if they do not have a display for it.
Your more realistic option, would be to consider another school.
