If the balloting odds is 50%, will you still prefer to join in? Or choose another school with no history of balloting? But I stayed so near the popular school
For me, i looked at the chances on how safe is my backup school choices in Phase 2CS.
If you are ok to send to any available schools if you fail to ballot in, then can go for it.

If you do not mind phase 2CS or even phase 3 schools then you go for ballot. Otherwise go for your second choice school for 2C.

In my opinion, better to have a peace of mind than worry about not having registered for a primary school.

Congrats to all the successful ones.

Try again in 2C if you are not successful.

Thanks Lexy and gang for the kind help. (Too many kind people, can’t name all)

(Last year this day was one of my happiest days too. )

For chongfu school phase 2c, If you are within one km, can consider. If 1-2km I would go for second choice of school.

How do you define absolute priority?

I am not sure if this has ever been raised before.

PR children can get into phase 1 of their school of choice easily if they also have a PR sibling already in their school of choice.
This means that a spot has been given to a PR student over a Singapore citizen only eligible for a later phase.

This system applies to all earlier phases for PR children over a Singapore citizen for a later phase but not eligible for the earlier phase of the same school.

Phases 2A1 and 2A2 may not necessarily have balloting.
It’s only phase 2B and especially the most intense phase 2C that has balloting.

So Singapore citizens in phase 2B and phase 2C have already lost spots to PRs in earlier phases.

Is this really absolute priority for Singapore citizens if a PR child takes a spot in an earlier phase of registration resulting in a SG citizen not getting a spot?

Typically, no numbers have been released before of how many PRs take P1 spots from citizens.
It may be very low or it may be significant.

It is not unfathomable that PRs have siblings in school, are alumni members, serve on school boards, are ex-students, staff of school, have siblings who are no longer students of the school. PRs would have taken spots away from citizens in phase 2B and 2C.

Yes, PRs contribute to Singapore. Singapore citizens also contribute to their own country.

The Singapore citizen child (and parents) in such situations are often forgotten because life goes on.

                      What are your thoughts?

I think currently, Phase take Priority 1st, then in the Phase, Citizen takes priority over PR, is already a huge step for local born. We can't satisfy everybody, and we don't divide the society too much. We all live here and should be in harmony.
