Last year for phase 2C Zhangde balloted for SCs >2km. Which means PR had zero chance of entering.
Hi, I'm a PR choosing between Cantonment and Zhangde in 2C. I note the above poster is a SC so hope someone can give me some advice for PR. I have heard many times Cantonment has a sizeable \"foreign\" population and therefore is more diverse (which we like). However, Zhangde location is slightly better and has a direct bus line. How would you decide?
This year, better check with Zhangde for the breakdown by the end of morning session. If you have zero chance, then you have to go to Cantonment this afternoon to register.
Cantonment Primary starts school at 7.45am, that’s 15 minutes later than most schools. Maybe you might have a direct bus (or two buses there), or walk from Outram MRT. It is still doable. -

Thanks. Zhangde still had 30 places left this morning (btw I am already registered there but was considering withdrawing to go to Cantonment this afternoon), but the administrator said sometimes there's a flurry on the last day. Is that true, do you normally see so many families come in on last day to register?bellathecorgi\" post_id=\"1925100\" time=\"1564619144\" user_id=\"175174:

There will be withdrawals when applicants realised that they have no chance of getting in (becos they can't get to ballot) or they don't want to risk balloting (so they switch)

You do not want to be caught out by a wave of SC > 2km enrolling in the school.

I just called to RMPS. Already 54 applicants within 1km. So my distance 1.2km is out.
Hope this info is useful for those eyeing on this school. Good luck! -

That's very helpful of you to post though you are out

But distance can't be so accurate. Use Onemap school query to check if you are really under \"blue\" zone (1-2km).
Hope you can get your 2nd choice! -

54 for 51 seats. See later if more within 1km will want to play lottery as well.

And yes, for the popular schools there’s ALWAYS a flurry of activity in the last 2 hours, even last hour, even the last 15 minutes and last last absolute final minute at 4.29pm. I have seen it with my own eyes at my school. Don’t get caught out. U still need to factor in your travel time after withdrawing.

Yes please factor in the admin time and travel time for withdrawal. I have done this before myself last time and its so rush that I nearly fell and injured. The rush is not fun. Sometimes the admin take their own sweet time and its damn frustrating. -
Once 30 places start trickling downwards after lunch, I will withdraw and move on. No need to wait for the dam to be breached. For PR, the certainty of having a place is WAY BETTER than the risk of ballot or getting flood by a last hour wave of applicants.
