:scared: wow! Anyway, Davis right about the elder one, floppy right about the younger one. But I no longer residing Bt. Batok. Love that place.
Sorry. Can’t bring myself to like Bukit Batok. Not a west side / northwest side person πŸ˜‚

Keming may not be as popular as some of the schools but it isn't that bad, it’s still relatively popular in BB. Based on the unscientific sample size of 2 (your daughters), can understand why πŸ˜†

Think for BB, the hot sch are Keming, St Anthony and PEPS...but see the results every year is very hard for SC even within 1km to enrol...now I have to find other alternative...any expert can advise what other schools can I enrol my kids? 😬

You left with Lian Hua, Dazhong and Bukit View. My backup previously was Bukit View.

PEPS and KPS will be jam when the new BTOs filled up.

This year JPS balloting is for PR meaning all Singapore Citizens can get in without balloting. Perhaps quite safe since you are 1-2km... I don't know how is JPS compared to Bukit View though.

How is Bukit View? Any comments? Heard they temp will move out of current location? So the distance is based on old or new location address?

It will always be based on the perm site location and not the holding site.

Hi all... First post here πŸ™‚ Really thank all the gurus here in providing so much valuable data and insights. Finally found someone discussing about the schools around my region.. πŸ™‚

I've been living in this area for years and always thought PEPS is an ok choice to try for 2C (around 1.2-1.5x oversubscribed) and suddenly since last year... Boomz! Oversubscription rate went up to 2.5x and continues to stay there for this year... I got a shock when checking out for my SG50 boy :scared:

What I noticed is that there are a lot of new BTO in this area for the past 2-3 years. For some of these blocks, PEPS is their ONLY choice within 1km. For the blocks nearer to Bukit Batok, the other <1km school(s) have plenty of seats in 2CS anyway. So these people add to the 2C number for PEPS.

The blocks nearer to Jurong side have JPS as another choice so they are luckier? I also noticed slight increase in JPS registration. But then these people may also have Fuhua as a 2CS backup so decided to join in the fun at PEPS...

And so I think these explain the sudden increase in oversubscription rate for PEPS....

PEPS also cut intake to 210 from 240 from Y2015 onwards. Fuhua increased intake in Y2018 to cater for larger dragon cohort. This encouraged more to join the ballot in PEPS perhaps as they anyway has safe P2CS backup.
However, worth to note that for Y2018 intake (dragon batch), JPS ballot for SC 1-2km at P2C, Fuhua only has place for SC within 1km (no ballot) at P2Cs.

Hi… My son (born in 2015 SG50 baby) is going to P1 in 2022. We have no alumni / clan / relevant priorities since we have just gotten SG citizenship (previously from the land across the causeway). Staying in Woodleigh, available schools were

St Andrew (< 1km), PeiChun/KuoChuan/HongWen/KhengCheng/Cedar/Bendemeer/Maris Stella (1-2km). Going to apply for PV (St Andrew / Hong Wen / Peichun). Our plan A –> (if PV successful –> Hong wen/Peichun then likely need ballot as 1-2km), plan B (St Andrew, SC < 1km). Bearing in mind, tons of TOP / private condo coming up in Potong Pasir (Poiz/Tre Ver / Bidadari and the surge in SG50 babies)
what do you think ? TQ !!!
