MY DS just finished sec1 and I feel that most of he’s teachers are very caring and keep me in touch with what is happening and whether DS has not submitted work (which he has always been notorious for since primary school). My DS is not an easy kid to keep up with but the commitment the teachers have shown thus far has helped me a lot.

Your profile says u live in CCK. Presbyterian High is located in AMK. Isn’t it quite far to travel??

Here is the current list of DSA domains for 2018. Not sure if next year will change:

We used to live in Yew Tee but had shifted to Sembawang right after PSLE was over.

In saying that though, I think it’s not too bad a travel from Yew Tee to PHS because PHS is right in front of the YCK MRT. There are a few students at PHS that travel from Yew Tee.

For the DSA I am not sure what they include as DS went through PSLE route.

I believe the list shown on the website should still be the same.

                  Dear Parents,

Understand from the MOE website that Tamil is not offered at the school premises and the students need to attend classes at one of the language centres.
                  Questions I have:
                  1) Do we get to choose the centre or does MOE assign the centre? We would prefer one that is close to our residence.
                  2) A. What are the timings? B. Is it everyday or during the weekends only.

                  Thanks

I am one of an ex-student from PHS in 1993-1997.

This is a good school. One of the better secondary school around Ang Mo Kio Area.

                        The normal academic students:
Back then, the normal academic stream kids are very motivated due to the christian culture that is inculcated into the school system. Everyday, we would have flag-raising ceremony and prayers in the morning. The kids in the school are well behaved; a good mixture of business-class family and neighourhood family.

Opportunities to be promoted to Express streaming:
I was a normal stream child and I got integrated into express streaming in my secondary 3 subsequently. The express level in the top 3 classes is usually the elitees. I major in three sciences back then.

                        The normal technical students:
The normal Technical students have strong product design skills to showcase PHS works. They are usually the winners in technical competitions.

                        The niche CCAs:

PHS has strong Christian values and they believe in aflame for truth. A well balanced of identifying the kids’ talents and academic scores. I was a national schools volleyball player in 1996/1997. The school adopted a holistic approach to acknowledge each individual strength and weakness. The weaker students during the secondary school days may not be able to study well but when I look at them now, they are entrepreneurs of their own.

The school believes in setting the right values and attitude towards excellence in a lifetime and not just academic. They support the students spiritually as teenagers usually goes through huge yoyo mood swing during this period.

If you child is unable to enter the top elite schools such as RI/Hwa Chong or Catholic, Presebyterian, st andrew secondary school, st patrick is the way forward.

                        Good luck parents!
