An alternate way of looking at the school is the following. The school has made its priorities and strengths clear while there are other options for kids who wants something else. The written test and selection camps also focussed on science and maths. so there is no ambiguity. The question that each parent and each child has to decide is whether it suits your passion and image of school you want to go to

Yes, my elder Daughter is in NUS high Year 1. All the Teachers are very helpful. They will have remedial class for those who are not doing well in the test, Well prepare them to go for exam.

A current JC 1 Student here. Got curious about what people think about this school and willing to answer any questions.

So far, have you come across any class mate(s) or school-mate who cannot cope with NUS High curriculum, within (year 2 to year 6), even though they tried their best ?

in the end, did MOE allow these students to transfer out to a lower tier IP school, or to another O-level school, since they signed DSA contract ?

The teachers are helpful, students could just book a time with the teacher to clarify any questions that they have (a bit like university type that you book time slot with your tutor). In addition, the seniors are very helpful, there were free \"tuitions\" setup by seniors (they even prepared notes and questions) for the juniors before mid year assessments, they just have to sign up in the systems and all are welcome to join. And before the sessions, the senior will collect all the questions that you have or topics that helps are needed.

In addition, the house system help the junior to know a lot of seniors and their phone number, getting to know a few year 6 seniors are very helpful too. Y5 is the toughest, seems like the Y6 seniors have times to help their juniors and are always willing to help (no A level exam to prepare )

That is what we like most from what we see so far ... there could be competition, but they are all very healthy, and everyone seems to be very willing to help everyone ... it is like a big family. Although some may be quite nerdy :imcool: but imagine when the Y6 seniors bring the Y1 juniors to University Town for lunch (yes, the only let down is the canteen) :rotflmao:

Tue 8-10 lesson, 10-10:30 recess, 10:30-1:30pm lessons, 1:30-2:30pm lunch, reserve for pull out and etc (depend on individual) … if nothing, then school end at 1:30pm

Wed 8-9:30 lesson, 9:30-10 recess, 10:30-1pm lessons, 1-2pm lunch, 2-6pm lessons

Thu 8-10 lesson, 10-10:30 recess, 10:30-1:30pm lessons, 1:30-2:30pm lunch, 3-6 electives (depend on individual) … if no electives, then school end at 1:30pm

Fri 8-8:30 mentoring session, 8:30-9:30 lesson, 9:30-10 recess, 10:30-12pm lessons, 12pm-2pm lunch, 2-3pm lessons, 4-6pm CCA (depend on individual)

long lunch time on Friday, or free time like Friday 3-4pm, Thu 2:30-3pm can be used for pull out, doing homework, looking for teachers, or mentoring session

2 Hr of PE, 2 Hr Art/Music, 2Hr Hum
