Yes we went for the Chit chat session in May this year. Overall all looks good though... Maybe is because of the school layout that people avoided choosing that school? The exterior do looks old but interior is quite ok as they renovated few years back also... it is a very nice and cosy environment for parents settling down for a smaller school for their child. Another thing i like is the student care that is within school compound and is under Canossaville themselves while GMPS is outsourced and named kidz TreeHouse student care but there are criteria for enrolmenrt. Another one is Christalite student care centre which is at the void deck beside it which heard is also full???
I have friends with kids from Canossa, for last year's PSLE results, there were a few kids scoring 260-280 announced during PSLE cert collection. Class size are small, about 25kids/class.Careybear\" post_id=\"1927934\" time=\"1565448949\" user_id=\"175210:
Hi all, Unsuccessful at St Andrew's Junior...

Looking at Canossa Catholic and Geylang Methodist now...
Cant seems to find any infos on CCPS & GMPS also...
CCPS is a small cohort of 120 intake and left with 40 vacancies and and GMPS of 270 and left with 42 vacancies...
Is there anyone who has the above information on these 2 schools?
Or any advice will be greatly appreciated...
My friend for this year's snake cohort chose Canossa over Tanjong Katong/St Stephens/Ngee Ann/Geylang Methodist in phase 2C primarily for small class size
We went down to CCPS yesterday and was told last year there were 5 classes for P1 meaning less than 25 per class which we felt is good for my child too.
For GMPS, they have 8 classes for P1 which seems like a very big cohort... they just renovated in recent years so people will tends to choose GMPS instead??
Think both school will not face any balloting for 2Cs but if looking at the exterior and bigger school GMPS will be filled up today.

‘Small’ schools are attractive in a number of ways - small classes, cosy environment, more attention etc.
However, there are some limitations as well - lack of space to roam, limited CCA options, etc -

would the school disclosed on the number of applicants or they just give estimation?

Seems like agps have alot of less than 1km candidate this rd. So u may want to call the sch to check.
Tml would be last day reg for 2cs, I’ve shortlisted my options as follows and would like to hear some advice.
(a) Anchor green currently left with 1seat - <1km SC
(b) Valour Primary (new sch opening 2nd quarter nx yr) currently left with 4 seats - <2km SC

I was wondering about the brave souls balloting for IJ Kellock but I guess I can see why. The backup school in the area is probably Gan Eng Seng Primary, and it still has 70 vacancies (acc to the MOE website). So if MOE is likely to post them to GESP anyway, no harm trying for IJ Kellock...
For schools with single digit vacancies and facing a possible ballot.
Concord Primary: 9 vs 22 applicants
St Gabriel’s Primary: 8 vs 18 applicants
CHIJ Our Lady of Good Counsel: 7 vs 11 applicants
Fern Green Primary: 7 vs 12 applicants
Haig Girls School: 3 vs 4 applicants
CHIJ (Kellock): 1 vs 4 applicants
Greenwood Primary: 1 vs 13 applicants
Springdale Primary: 1 vs 7 applicants
For IJ Kellock and Haig Girls, I hope the school admin has enough sense to call these parents up to avoid a ballot unless really necessary. -
