Very true. Top schools never lack music talents. That’s why MEP is offered in RI, ACSI and NJC.

There are 10 MEP secondary schools. Not just RI and ACSI.
And NJC is an AEP school, not MEP.

Sorry maybe I have mistaken and thought NJC also offers MEP. I mentioned NJC because I remembered a few friends from NJC and was impressed by their music talent and knowledge.
I know there are more schools offering MEP. But I did not know so many schools are offering MEP, and all are really good schools. Thank you so much for the correction.

When MEP started in 1982, it was only offered in DHS (O Level) and RJC (A Level). ACS (now ACS(I)), MGS and TKGS were added to the programme in 1983.

As for AEP, it was started in 1984 with TCHS (now HCI) and NYGH. In 1985, CHIJ TP, VS (for O Level) and NJC (for A Level) were added to the programme.

I think it's only a small minority (not sure how small) that repeat J1, I believe. The vast majority move on to J2. \"Tough\" really depends on who you ask. I guess a lot do find it tough, but there are some who don't.

What’s the GPA promo criterion to JC2? If it’s just 2.0 or 2.4, surely it can’t be that difficult.

According to slmkhoo in 2017 (don't think there is any change; most JCs have similar criteria):
Promotion criteria: 2 H2 passes or 1 H2 + 2 H1s. For those who don't make the criteria, there is a 2nd chance (probably at the end of year) called \"conditional promos\".

A H2 pass is generally regarded as an E and above.

:yikes: One per year or one in the last few years?[/quote]
From what I know, it's about 1 music dsa student every year.
                    2013 - Double-bass
                    2014 - Vocal
                    2015 - Violin
                    2016 - Vocal
                    2017 - Cello
                    2018 - Cello

There are no lack of music talents. My boy has heard of students with grade 8 or diploma failed to get into MEP.

                        Hi everyone,

We are delighted that DS received a CO via DSA. But we will be out of town during most of Oct and Dec, so we will only have Nov to prepare the Y1 items like school uniform, books, shoes etc.

Uniform-wise we can just go to Bibi and Baba, so that’s easy.
But when will the book list be available?
And how do we know what house t shirts to buy?
How strict is the school when it comes to white shoes and socks?
What kind of school bags do you recommend for Y1?
How often do the boys need to bring laptops to school?

                        Thank you.
