      Hi all,

My daughter is in Kumon and her mental computations (multiplication, division etc) is fine. However, when she sees problem sums that require modelling, she is stuck. Her English is fine and she understands the question, but she cannot bring herself to solving the problem.
Would there be good tuition centres that provide modelling lessons to help her understand these problems better?
      Thanks!

      Michael

Which level is she at? If she is upper primary the better tuition centres will focus on solving problem sums, like Andrew er learning centre, maths hub, mathoasis, etc. Look under "all about primary school maths enrichment" for more names.

          Hi, michael68,

you can try GreatMind ( http://www.greatminds.edu.sg/), a new tution centre set up by 2 PhD degree holders expertise in Math and Science. They are very focusing on Modeling method and also teach Olympic Math skill and other methods (such as, unitary method, tabulate method...). All the lessons are preprared very well by these two experters.

Since the centre is located on the downtown of Singapore (just oppsite Singapore National Library ) and set-up not so long ago, the class size is very small, which teacher can give more attention to your kid. if you kid is in P5, welcome to join my daughter's class.

I attended their workshop yesterday, and it's quite useful. I may enroll my DD next term.

The maximum students in a class is 12.
