School of Science and Technology

just a thought…
was browsing thru their website and saw their sch "KEY"achievement.
Generally, would say 90% are on the ICT side which is related to science and technology achievement.
If the final DSA selection camp is only 200+ students, how many will be consider for using sports to get into the school?
comparing the 200+ students vs the sch key achievement, using sports eg football, badminton etc might have a lower chances of getting it…but that’s only my own opinion.
furthermore, during the last selection process ( project base), there is no right or wrong answer and in a group of 4 students, lets say will reject 2 students from each group to make up the total cohort of 200+, these 2 students will be based on DSA sports or based on their primary sch ICT CC.
what you guys think of the selection process? -

I doubt anyone can answer this question. It is different every year and it is even harder to guess this year because this is the first year all DSA applicants have to use a centralised portal.
Ok but for the sie, how many places to they usually have left?[/quote]
Furthermore, the number of places don't matter because I doubt any school would accept students below their criteria just to fill in places. The chances of getting into any school is more dependable on the candidate's ability than the number of vacancies left. -

SST only admits students through STEAM talent. They do not accept any other talent through DSA.
It would be very strange for any student try to enter SST through sports DSA because it is not even an option. To answer your question, any student who try to use any talent not related to STEAM to enter SST will have 0% of getting in.call74\" post_id=\"1931841\" time=\"1566949265\" user_id=\"179399:

i did ask my boy during the project based selection , the interviewer did ask what CCA on those students, some said thru football, badminton, floorball etc…
thats why i have these thoughts that makes me wonder…hopefully i am wrong -
tiberiansu:
during Round 2 DSA camp (group) interview, when the interviewers went round the group, asked P6 students which other Secondary schools did they also concurrently apply (besides SST), which is an FAQ (Frequently asked question, at Interview), suppose there are 3 different candidates replied differently, as below

- one candidate answered, \"I had also applied for SOTA\",
- second candidate answered, \"I had also applied for Singapore School of Sports\",
- third candidate answered, \"I had also applied for NUS High\"
come to think of it
i wonder if they will consider the first two candidates, since SOTA and Singapore School of Sports, got nothing to do with Science & Technology. At least, NUS High is still related to STEM. How do you all feel (think) ? -

the number of vacancies that are left for SIE (Supplementary intake), will depend on the number of COs given up by the P6 students, hence giving rise to vacancies. As this number varies from batch to batch, year to year, there is no fixed number, for SIE.
After PSLE results are released (announced), if your Tscore is from 235 upwards, good chance
So, stay focused on doing well in PSLE, because left less than 5 weeks, count down.
Prelim is over for all primary schools, by tomorrow Friday (30 Aug 2019), August month-end, the last day of this month
Next week, start September.
PSLE Listening Comprehension on the way, akan datang ...
followed by the last battle, in the last week of September, all PSLE Main Papers start, from 26 Sept (English) onwards, one by one -
yayoi:
tomorrow Friday (30 Aug 19), last day of this month (August), news then out
Oh man, really cruel... lol.... meaning on 30 Aug itself all 200 students will be notified? That’s many email to send. Hopefully they don’t do it over a few days like the round 2 interview notification email.... -
I think it is just a leading question. In some cases, I would imagine the interviewers' interest will be piqued if the students replied no CCA. It may suggest that the student may not be able to cope with CCA and PSLE prep.
