The CD and adviser whom you served and signed off your EM appointment letter will be the one signing off the recommendation of the phase 2B application. The letter once approves just states the school you are qualified based on where you stay. Why would the adviser of your residence sign off your application if they did not even know who you are?

And even if active, might not be of appointment holders, just EM. I have attended and volunteered several activities, and just shake hands a few times if advisor happened to pass by my area of service/post. How would the advisor know every volunteers.
Need not to be appointment holder, just be actively involved and visible will do. If the adviser sees you event after event, surely he/she will take notice. My adviser can address certain volunteers by name after a few events.
If you know you would be moving house before the P1 registration period, the advise is not to consider using grassroots for phase 2B. Too many events can happen within 2 years, be it GE or other reasons.[/quote]Noted on your point, thanks ! -

If you do not stay in GRC that you serve in, mean you are Associate member, last time there is a difference between EM (resident in GRC) and AM (non-resident in GRC) as AM cannot hold office bearer appointments hence don't qualify for Phase 2B application previously, not sure if there are any changes in regulations recently to allow non residents to be EM. Best to check with the CM on this before committing all your eggs in one basket.

Perhaps now there is no difference between residents and non-residents of the GRO to be EMs. So just need to focus on being active, and get 2 years of service in time for Phase 2B application. But still it is best to check with CM on the eligibility, sometimes it is best to declare your intentions upfront, where the CM knows what to expect from you in terms of commitment.
Some EMs in my GRC are non-residents of the GRC and one of them hold key appointment.
But need to know that this can work against you since you have declared your intentions, you may be \"volunteered\" for a lot of duties and commitment since they know you need to clock 2 years of activeness. You have to judge the culture of the GRO first. -

Hi, I have three questions:
1. In the grassroots connect, my residential address cannot be found. Where can I find it?
2. When we change our residential address, do we need to inform the CM and chairperson?
2. If residential address is changed in March, the endorsement letter that is generated will be endorsed by the new advisor of the new GRC or the advisor of the old GRC? Why would the new advisor endorse the letter when the person did not serve in the new GRC but the old GRC? -

Probably stay active would be the wise choice. Sincerely help and volunteer, attend meetings and events. If not removed as Member means safe, still active. In my personal opinion not all GRO are the same. Meaning not all RN/NC/RC are the same, some have ppl queuing up to serve while some are newer estates that are in need of volunteers so queuing is not required.
If I’m in a GRO that is highly sort after and has queued up for months to be confirm as exec member and is going beyond for the 2B status and to then know that someone else who had a “easier” time at another GRO that gets the same 2B status in my GRC, there will be some sense of injustice. Of cause some would argue that this is already happening with Clans/religious associations.
End of the day if there is flexibility for GRL to switch address to another GRC will be to my advantage. Just wanted to make sure that I understand the implications if any so that I can make a informed decision on what to do in my situation.

Usually the AMs in my RC are former residents who had shifted out of the constituency but choose to stay on to volunteer hence some did held appointments. I came across instances where we need to remove some from the list to make way for residents when there are fierce competition for EMs slots within the constituency.
