Hi, can I check with current nygh parents wat are the school hours like? report to school by 8.00 am? typical day ends at 4.00 pm? Thanks.

School starts at 8-8.15am. I drop off my girl around 7.45am. On most days, her lessons end between 2.30pm to 2.45pm. My girl chose a more “eng” CCA
so it’s like meet once a week. CCA and 3rd Lang day, she will make her own way home. Her CCA usually ends around 6pm and 3rd Lang ends at 7pm. -
Wah if u list it out… a lot of people will join man… secondary hours really worse than office hours.

Unfortunately, at least for my DD2’s classroom there’s no aircon.

Luckily, NYGH 凉爽装 uniforms provide “air ventilation” so can’t be that hot :rotflmao: -

Hi parents, transitioning from NYPS to NYGH, I was initially only considering keeping tuition for Chinese. But I heard from current NYGH students that the teachers are very supportive and can approach them for extra consultation - which is great! Do you think not having Chinese tuition at Sec 1 is okay to cope with the secondary Chinese syllabus? I realise you won’t know my kid’s calibre to comment much. But she is a high A Chinese kid (88% thereabouts), compo can range from 26-34, but mostly just 30-31, and currently supported with Chinese tuition. Just asking for 一般来讲 situation , if no Chinese tuition lifeline, can a kid cope with Chinese in Sec 1?
Or you might tell me, the Chinese standard is really crazy high in NYGH, then I know already, I will keep the Chinese tuition and chope the tutor’s time. Hard to come by good tutors, and even places in popular Chinese tuition centre will get snapped up. -

Depends on your expectations of your child. I also dropped my gals HCL tuition after PSLE. My gals got A* for both CL and HCL. Now at Sec 1, yes they disliked Chinese (personal preference nothing to do w sch) but they are not doing too badly (sometimes A1/2 sometimes B3) but don’t expect to TOP lah, how to fight with the many native Chinese in this sch.... -

They also get a lot of practice from school. At least for my DD, she totally just rely on school, no need buy any assessment books or outside tuition.
