Perhaps now there is no difference between residents and non-residents of the GRO to be EMs. So just need to focus on being active, and get 2 years of service in time for Phase 2B application. But still it is best to check with CM on the eligibility, sometimes it is best to declare your intentions upfront, where the CM knows what to expect from you in terms of commitment.
Some EMs in my GRC are non-residents of the GRC and one of them hold key appointment.
But need to know that this can work against you since you have declared your intentions, you may be \"volunteered\" for a lot of duties and commitment since they know you need to clock 2 years of activeness. You have to judge the culture of the GRO first. -

Hi, I have three questions:
1. In the grassroots connect, my residential address cannot be found. Where can I find it?
2. When we change our residential address, do we need to inform the CM and chairperson?
2. If residential address is changed in March, the endorsement letter that is generated will be endorsed by the new advisor of the new GRC or the advisor of the old GRC? Why would the new advisor endorse the letter when the person did not serve in the new GRC but the old GRC? -

Probably stay active would be the wise choice. Sincerely help and volunteer, attend meetings and events. If not removed as Member means safe, still active. In my personal opinion not all GRO are the same. Meaning not all RN/NC/RC are the same, some have ppl queuing up to serve while some are newer estates that are in need of volunteers so queuing is not required.
If I’m in a GRO that is highly sort after and has queued up for months to be confirm as exec member and is going beyond for the 2B status and to then know that someone else who had a “easier” time at another GRO that gets the same 2B status in my GRC, there will be some sense of injustice. Of cause some would argue that this is already happening with Clans/religious associations.
End of the day if there is flexibility for GRL to switch address to another GRC will be to my advantage. Just wanted to make sure that I understand the implications if any so that I can make a informed decision on what to do in my situation.
But we can’t always say this place easier that place harder so injustice here and there. It will never end. Just do your best based on current situation.
The portal is open for all GRLs who are eligible to apply, should they required the Phase 2B priority. Applicants will be asked to list down their involvements over the 2 years to justify for their \"activeness\". Something on the activeness is that most CMs keep attendance list of all the events, eg meetings, events, which they can counter check on the applicant's claims. And also on the adviser part is that how well he/she knows the applicant, if the applicant had actively involved in the grassroots events, it is likely the adviser will get to know the applicant quite well. The adviser who signed the recommendation is the one you are serving, hence less chance of applicant being rejected.
Switching of GROs is not advisable as the one you want to switch to might not have slots for EM, hence some are not able to have continuous 2 years of service to qualify for 2B application. Advise is to try to join the GRO you are staying in and do your best to get involved in the community because you also benefit as you are a resident of the area too. If you do not stay in GRC that you serve in, mean you are Associate member, last time there is a difference between EM (resident in GRC) and AM (non-resident in GRC) as AM cannot hold office bearer appointments hence don't qualify for Phase 2B application previously, not sure if there are any changes in regulations recently to allow non residents to be EM. Can I confirm that even if you are not staying in the GRC you are serving in, the phase 2B endorsement letter can still be signed by the advisor?
In short, all eligible GRLs will have the option to submit the application, as long as one is deemed active enough tor the recommendation, it will most likely be signed. -

Usually the AMs in my RC are former residents who had shifted out of the constituency but choose to stay on to volunteer hence some did held appointments. I came across instances where we need to remove some from the list to make way for residents when there are fierce competition for EMs slots within the constituency.

Probably all NC/RC EM through PA will be recognized. Apply through PA and ask them thereafter

I understand that there is a rule that says if you gain priority admission through the home-school distance, then you’re required to stay in that address for at least 30 months after commencement of registration. My question is whether that rule still applies in Phase 2B for GRLs and PVs, assuming that there no need for ballot at the close of registration for that Phase?

No need for ballot is not = to gaining priority admission through home-school distance. Must read very carefully.
Example: if all <1km applicants fill the seats exactly, no need ballot. BUT they have gained priority admission through home-school distance, over the eg. 2 fellas who lived 1-2km from the school. The 30-month lock-in requirement will apply.
