Yes this is the one. This is my DS dream school and I only recently knew abt this adverse news and I have my hold back to exercise the DSA option and trying to persuade him to other consider good schools via T score. Can anyone share some opinions on this?
It is probably an isolated case. As long as there's no systemic problem in the school's system that poses a hazard to ur child, i think it should be okay to choose the school. Afterall, in the 6 years of education at that school, teachers will come and go, and be assigned to various classes in different years. How can you predict or control that?

This may be an isolated case . There are cases that p molested the students . For me , I will not against my Ds .[/quote]The article says that the teacher has been suspended. I doubt the school will take him back.

His drug use was a personal flaw, no impact on the students (unless you’re implying the teacher turned up for lessons while high or spouted pro-drug discussions during his classes - we don’t know the truth because the school did not make any press statement). As long as your own child knows and fully comprehends the consequences of using drugs in Singapore, I don’t see why the students would be in a vulnerable position in the school with the offending teacher gone.

          Hi there,

I understand that Crest Sec Sch and Spectra Sec Sch dont receive online submissions of Sec Sch applications. Does it mean a parent would need to go down personally to BOTH schools to submit hardcopy application forms? Or going down to one school (eg Crest) is sufficient; if that school has no more vacancy, then my child is posted by default to the other sch (eg. Spectra)?
Would anyone know abt this? What documentation do i have to bring in addition to forms and psle transcripts (birth cert too?)

If your child is eligible, on PSLE results day, you will receive a joint application package from the 2 schools, which contain the application form, and presumably other details and FAQ. There is some info below but not much:

I’ve been day dreaming about life after PSLE. In particular, now we are all focused on child’s t-score - those important 3 digits. But after getting the t-score and using it to apply to secondary school, no one really cares about t-score right? Do secondary kids talk about t score much amongst themselves? Do schools use it to stream child into different ability classes? Cos I heard trend now is to co-mingle different ability children.
