[Jurong West] Primary Schools

Dear mummies (and possibly daddies)...
Anyone of you keen to do PV at West Grove for your kids?
My son is born in year 2005, for PV at West Grove, we have to register by 30 June this year.
Alternatively, I am thinking of Xingnan as another option...as it seems as a quite decent school.
My friends told me that foundation studies is very important so I am really stress out on which school to choose! -
:? huh y sooo early must sign up for PV ???? my son also, in 2005 but now only N2 leh..i thought must do 1 year before right ???

Born in 2005, means P1 in 2012, means register in mid 2011, means start PV in mid 2010, means sign up for PV in end 2009. Some schools dont open PV intake that soon though. Best to call up to ask. -
Haha…sorry for the confusion…my son is born in the year 2004…
anyway i check with Rulang primary, their registration for PV will close in 30 June this year also…
considering between WG and RL for PV (or even both! if I have the time).
else…Xingnan…
Wat is your views? -

There is no such thing as 'guaranteeing' a place one. All depends on the no. of vacancies vs no. of applicants under phase 2B in the year u register.
But based on past 3 yrs' trend, there was no balloting conducted under phase 2B for Rulang, meaning all PV get in. Do note that the no. of applicants = no. of vacancies (ie. the numbers match exactly) for 2006 and 2007 though. So it is a very thin line u are walking upon. It would help if u are staying within 1km. -
hihi,
i am staying:
1) within 1 km from West Grove
2) within 1-2km from Xingnan
3) outside 2km from Rulang
I agree that the culture of the school is very important.
As I believe that character development is much more important than academic achievements.
It seems that I need to do PV if I want to get into either of the school due to the distance and popularity.
Tohwei, what exactly do you do as a PV?
Are you working as well?
