2010 P1 Registration Exercise for 2011 In-Take

too many variables in that equation
1. Number of vacancies that school decided to have and endorsed by MOE.
2. Number of applicants in earlier phases (this itself is a compound of a lot of factors)
3. Number of applicants in phase 2C and the proximity they are to the school
4. Number of SG citizen and PR eligible for balloting
Past years statistics are only for estimating. Every year would be different. -
This will be an interesting year becos 6 years ago, govt announced a slew of measures to increase birthrate. Although the effects of the measures would have taken some months to materialise.

according to the birth rate chart.. this year is not much different from previous year

Optimus:
The problem is whether the increase in applicants is in the school that I want. Say for thsi shcool, last yr phase 2C shows that ballot is required for 1-2 km, does it mean that I got lesser chance this yr for the same phase and didstance 1-2km? :?
No point worrying over such matter now. The most important thing that you need to do now is to shortlist the schools. Do not limit yourself to just one school. Rank a few schools according to your pre-set criteria, and just wait for the registration to commence. -

You don't just rely on the birth rate. PRs should also be considered.according to the birth rate chart.. this year is not much different from previous year

Agree. I'm registering my child this year. and we did not just stick to one school, but formulated a plan with backup schools in mind.Optimus:

Actually total live births in year 2004 is the lowest in recent years.
2002\t40760
2003\t37485
2004\t37174
2005\t37492 -
I am just weighting the pro & con. You see, I wanted to try WG but based on past yr trend, ballot is always required for <1 km. For me I am using my parent add. and I am under phase 2C, so it is kind of like no chance but you never know right? West side normally have a lof of PRs and with low birth rate for 2004, I am comtemplating if I should try for it.
My backup is SQ and last yr, ballot is required for 1-2km for Phase 2C. If I try in WG and by the time result is out, SQ would have been full already. In the end, I might end up with no seat at both school.
