30cc. The volume of air will be the volume of space left inside the container. No matter how much additional air u pump in.

In a container with a capacity of 50unit, if water (which has a fixed volume, thus cannot be compressed) has occupied 15+5=20unit, remaining space for the air to occupy is 30unit
I think is 45cc cuz air can be compressed -

wow tks. That's my understanding as well.
Compressed means more air taking up less space. Hence 30 cc is the answer. -

My two kids have already went through PSLE few years back, one is an above average student, the other is a below average student. When they encountered tough questions, they will never cry over it as we have always tell them, what's important is they never give up trying, they have done their best and have no regrets. My daughter sat for her O Levels last year, many had complained that the Maths questions are completely different from the TYS. My daughter told us that the questions are indeed weird but the formulae and applications to be used are the same so don't overthink. Just apply what you have learnt.
For all those parents questioning the necessity for such ridiculously difficult questions on the maths paper - the simple answer is that it's to find the top, top students and separate them from the rest. Singaporean students are already the top in the world, if all the exams had the \"normal\" questions, there will be a large percentage who will do very well in the exams, and then there will be a large percentage of students who will do very well in their T-scores.
But since, PSLE is NOT a competition with yourself, but with others, the examiners will need these sort of questions to separate out the top, top from the top to the not quite top to the ok students.
As parents, we should tell our kids not to worry about these questions, to do what they can and move on - this is what I've told my kids - my DS got all these questions wrong, but he didn't cry over it - we know he's done his best and these questions would have been a struggle for him - maybe he'll understand it next year or in two years time or maybe never, but that's ok - move on and learn - focus on what you can do and what you know and do it to the best of your ability! -

Yes dd wrote 30 cc.. cant be 45 cc as there is already 20 ml of water in a 50 ml jar.
Compressed means more air taking up less space. Hence 30 cc is the answer. -
yes, its as if air is a second class citizen. it will just take up whatever volume is left for it after water takes up the space first. so it is 30cc.
never mind learn from here, matter is something you will still encounter in many years to come. -
Agree just try their best and support them but we must not also forget those are our kids. Its a blessing if they are resilient but We cant speak for how other kids react. while parents give support but there are kids who simply cant take the pressure. These parents do worry and cant help but hope something can be done. Yes…we have to see the big picture but parents are still parents, when kids cry, parents heart break… they have to let it out.

Can he recall the question?
Choices not in order-
1) root starts to grow at x
2) root comes out before shoot
3) seed starts to grow at x
4) **he forgot but definitely wrong**
*note - straight line is Seed Leaf, dotted line is Seed

dylanmummy2003, for picture composition, they don't give any title or state any theme. Analyzing the pictures to identify the them (审题) is part of the process. No worries, as mentioned in the https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=69&t=81235&p=1938525&hilit=level#p1938525, the impact is more on whether student can attain level 1 grading for content rather than being \"penalized\".
