1) Number of years of course - 4 yrs O level ? same O level syllabus?

Then what is the big diff in SST and a normal Secondary sch who offers O level ... there are also STEMsci , IT in sec sch etc ... the fees are high ..

Well, the difference is, in a normal Secondary school,

(for example)

1)
students won't have the chance to receive eg. ADMT (Art, Design, Media and Technology) additional (extra) training experience (exposure), or attachment to Polytechnic for further training (if necessary), because for certain specialized subjects, SST students may need to use the laboratory facilities (equipment) there inside the Polytechnic when they do project attachment supervised by the Seniors there

students are not allowed to take any specialized O-level exam paper on \"Design Studies\", whereas SST students can,

students won't be exposed to receive training in other aspects of SST ready built-in-designed school curriculum, from Year (1 to 4), besides learning the usual STEM components taught, eg. Business planning, exploring Entrepreneurship ideas, feasibility study, training young, curious mind on viable business option (opportunities), etc

IT (information Technology or Infocomm) is very much coupled to SST curriculum.
SST students are much IT oriented, IT savvy

Very informative indeed. But for parents who are still contemplating whether to accept the CO or not over questions posting by MP, I think it will be most recommended to check with the school if it is really a concern.

And if you have already accepted the CO, prepare your questions for the QnA during the briefing to parents. I believed most of your queries will be addressed.

SST adopts a holistic approach to learning and may differs from other mainstream secondary schools to some extent. Therefore, having questions or doubts are pretty normal.

Looks like u and your dd is keen n interest in these areas above .
Will u be accepting the CO?

In a normal Sec
1) Desgin n tech is compulsory for all lower Sec. But only provided to normal steam kids in upp Sec
2) Art is available to all until O level m Sec 2 streaming
3) computing is also provided in most above avg Sch as a O level subject
My Nephew took n scored well in O level , now taking in A level subject
4) a few Sec Sch are IT oriented too, since lower Sec kids need to buy laptops to learn. Media, simple coding , movie making etc . My kid did in lower Sec

5) propabbly STEM is not v common yet in all Sec Sch,
But I know now Sec Sch has fund for ALP learning , heard fr a close teacher fren, their Sch is doing microbiology stuff - for this kids . They even bought incubators to grow bacteria. But this is just more knowledge learning , not a O subject

As been suggested by zoukete, feel that it is better that u attend SST Open house, closer (nearer) the time when your child is nearer P6 Psle time, next time. And if u have question, can ask the senior SST students and lecturers there and then, they are in a better position, to advise u

Parents and kids are encouraged to join. You will be separated for parent talk and kids will go to classrooms

There should be an email to invite parents and child for A Day@SST, provided you have receive the CO from SST.

There are 2 sessions, one in the morning and another in the afternoon. Parents and child will only require to attend one of the session. The email will indicate which session you will be attending.

The kids will have their own activities while parents will be attending a briefing at the Auditorium.

SST said that closer (nearer) the time towards 19 Oct, SST will send out email, indicating which session (either morning or the afternoon session), for parent and child to attend

SST said that Saturday (19 Oct) is a whole day event, starting 8 am to 2 pm. Parents will attend briefing, while students engage in some activities
